Looks like I'm back a little bit. My story, for anyone interested or in possession of too much free time:

After a 3 month down-swing last Fall, I gave up the game, my poker soul having given up the ghost, and went cold turkey on it all. I was surprised at how easy it was to quit. You get to a point where you've allowed the game to abuse you so much that your only move left is to walk away from it, and when you do, it feels fucking amazing. But you definitely have to hit the very bottom before you can let go. To recreational players this may sound dramatic, but for anyone who's played "professionally", as in your rent depends on it, I think you know exactly what I mean.

Well, 7 months later I discover that I'd left $400 between two poker sites. I cashed out half and decided to play around with the rest. So I've been playing a little 25NL and it's been really fun! I have a real job now and this money doesn't really mean anything and it's definitely a lot more fun to play this way.

I'd like to do some chill low-level bonus whoring, but I don't know how much of that is left. Cake Poker? Is that where it's at?

Being on the "outside" for the last 7 months has allowed me to form some titer thoughts on online poker and, in particular, the idea of the young online professional. I'll probably expound/yap on them soon...

Results since I started playing again last week. This is at 25NL 6-max, with a little 10NL thrown in. PT says that I'm 28/14, which is great because I used to have trouble just getting my numbers up to 20/10.

Obviously, I'm happy with these numbers and the cards have been decent.

Today, not so much fun. No shortage of miracle cards for the donks today.




The good news is that within 45 minutes I will have a belly full of ribs.
