I'm dealt ( ) , and the bring in is immediately to my left. It folds around to the guy immediately on my right, who has a 5 door card and completes the bet. Guy is a "poker coach" personality. I decide to represent a split pair of kings and raise it. Bring in guy bails, coach calls. his next card is an eight, mine is the . At this point I think he's going to bail on 4th street after appearantly having a blank hit -- don't think he's rolled up due to just calling my heads up raise. I bet out, he calls.
5th street I hit the . He hits a 9. I bet again on my last bluff attempt and he calls.
6th card for me is the , he hits a queen that gives him rainbow up cards. I bet for value this time, he calls. The last card is dealt, I hit the flush, I bet, he raises, I reraise, and he calls.
He had two pair -- pocket JJ and two queens later on. He goes on to berate me for being "stupid enough to play AK9 unsuited" and getting damn lucky.
While I agree that I hit some really lucky cards, who thinks my play on this hand was alright? Keep in mind that this guy is the coach of the table and has been playing pretty tight. I think I'm fine on 3rd and 4th for sure, but I shouldn't have bet 6th for value -- 5th street was marginal but the board looked like it might fold him...
