This happened twice to me today and I'm wondering how best to handle it next time. Both times I was H/U with a 3/1 chip lead. Blinds were still relatively small ( 75/150, 100/200, no ante). I then lose a race and we are pretty even in chips. The other player was quite aggressive but would frequently laydown when 3-bet pre-flop. Now I go completely card dead and he dials up the aggression. I know he won't call a re-raise but the stacks are awkward (30-40 bbs) and I was getting 8-3/4-2 for an extended period. Before I know it he has me 2-1 in chips. How can I best handle these situations when I don't have a good 3-betting stack? I hate to raise a third of my stack with air.
