How J8o prevented me from entering my first WPT event (exaggeration).

17 people signed up for the $1,100 act 3 today. 1 person wins a seat into the WPT and a handful of people get re-entries into act 3. We start with 10k chips, 25/50 blinds, and half hour levels, pretty nice.

Early on folds to the hijack who open limps, I limp the cutoff with A2 of diamonds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop is AK5 with 2 diamonds. Check, check, check, 125, fold, call, fold.

Turn is an offsuit J. BB now leads for 350. I call.

River is an offsuit J. BB leads for 600, I cry call.

He tables J8o, no fucknig joke.

Now we are up to 50/100.

One limp to me and I make it 400 on the button with black KK. Blinds call, and so does limper (maybe he folded, don't remember).

Flop is 896 with two hearts. SB checks. Villain from last hand leads 700. I call. SB Calls.

Turn is an offsuit J and SB leads for like 2600. BB folds. I tank. His line is pretty weird. I decide his most likely hand is JT and push all in (he has about 3200 or so behind, and I cover by like 1500). He calls with J8 and I miss my 8 outter.

I get it in like 3 hands later with KQo vs. 66, and lose.

For what little time you spend playing in live tournaments vs cash online, you have accomplished a not too shabby result..I personally think you should put the effort into the tournament circuit beginning with the October Foxwoods WPF, playing in as many of their tourneys as you can afford..One big win there and you bankroll will zoom..and I know you have the skills (maybe not the patience so bring your Scientific American Journals with you) and dive in..
