Another GD $50SNG... Another GD bubble play that I'm questioning...

Same position as before... I'm about 2nd in chips somewhere in the 2500 range... One HUGE stack... at least 1 pretty small stack... I was actually pretty low, and doubled up a couple times to stay in the game...

Blinds are 200-400... So, I get 10s on the button and raise 1200... Big Stack, as is usual w/ my bad luck... raises from the BB to put me allin... At this point, I'm basically stuck (probably shouldn't have raised that much) and call the allin... He's got Jacks, and they hold up...

Was this a stupid play by me (pretend you didn't know he had Jacks, or that would be an easy question)...?

Not a stupid play, but I would have pushed all-in to start with if you're ready to get them all-in at some point in the hand. Do it from the beginning, he's more likely to fold and you can take the blinds. You really would prefer not to get a call with TT, but you have to play them at this point.

fla... thanks for destroying my play, as always... One question, which I left out from the origional post... I'd seen a few allins (they would show their cards, I'm not sure why), and people were calling w/ basically any ace or any king... Not necessarily even 2 overs... I'd seen A4s call and K3 call...

Basically, does the fact that there was a pretty good chance I was getting called by only 1 overcard, giving him 3 outs, improve the want for a call and then a push on the flop... ?

I don't think this is a bad play and it just sucks. The only time I wouldn't do this is if the short stack is all in or practically all in in the blinds so by folding you can guarantee an ITM. Even that would be pretty weak because ideally you want to make the money, but you want a chance at the win too.

Fla... I'm always open to criticism, as I usually need it... BTW... The little smileyface after something I say usually means I'm trying to be a smartass... Sorry if I come off overly harsh... I generally have a bad, rough sense of humor...
