My BR is currently $1600. It was $2k. But last night I got hammered with some mates, came in and played poker drunk. It's something I never do. I feel pretty bad about it right now but I'll get it back.

What I'm saying is we all do dumb things, but most of us learn to not do it again and be better players/people for it.

If you keep doing stupid shit it's probably time to find a new hobby. If you have gambling tendancies, go play with some play money and hit the all in button every hand until the craving has gone. Once you see that roll growing from playing patient poker, trust me, you'll wanna protect it like a pile of gold.

I personally hate FR. It's full of set miners and nut peddlers.

Play 6 max ftw.

Great guys...another question for you. At $110, what is faster, $3.40 Sngs or playing 2nl ring games. Oh also if i was playing 6max ring games, what flop percentage should i aim for? is there any good websites for 6max nl games? Again you guys are great.

Bankroll: $110

Also i got really close to winning a huge donkement today. Got to 43rd place and got $1.39. I think think i would be playing any more <$1.00 tournaments anymore because it took almost 5 hours and still only cashed out $1.39 for a $.25 tourney. =O

Yeah donkaments can be a bitch, just ask 12er how to go from 15k for first place to out in 6th after a flop of ATX with his AQ vs JJ.

Pretty much all sites are better at 6 max but for your patience issues you are better of playing full ring to start and moving to 6max after you have played full ring for a while. 6max can be really swingy and for someone who is working on patience/ self control issues you might be better off waiting. Where to play 6max depends on where you live, if you are in the US the answer is different than if you are not. I personally prefer cash games to sng's and it will better prepare you for moving up.

Well i'm just playing a little at work. So far im up like $1.5 after losing $4 like 10 minutes in to a really bad river lol. So its going alright so far.

I open to $.06 on the button with As, Qh. BB calls me. Pot $.13

Flop Ah 6s 7c. I bet $.07 and he calls. Pot $.27

Turn Ac. I bet $.25. He raises all-in for his remaining $3.74, I call.

River 9d

I have trip A, losing to [8h,5h].

lol that was sick but i most of it back from him like an half an hour later so i don't feel too bad. Can't wait to get my bankroll to $125 so i can move up to 5nl. Oh I'm also proud that i didn't go tilt off the rest of my chips after losing that hand and was able to come back. Also its kind of funny how anyone else on this website is posting pots of $100 and up and i'm posting a pot that ended up being like $8 but thats ok. In about 6 months i know i will be in more exciting pots with more exciting numbers.

Going smoothly so far

Postby JackyS » Tue Oct 09, 2007 9:02 am

So pretty good day today. Didn't play much but when i did i did quite well. Got home from work and jumped onto the computer. First hand in and i doubled up my three dollars. It was the typical AA vs. KK and my aces held. I was happy but was also dead tired after my 11 hour shift. I work as a t mobile sells rep so whenever it doesn't get busy i play poker. Oh, i have yet another question for you pros out there. How much money do you expect to win in one day or one week. So far i was shooting for 10 buy ins a week. Does that sound reasonable? So far im up almost $20 and 10 buy-ins at the $.02 tables is $30. Well again thx for all the support!!! I'm going to sleep.

Pok' 7 thank you for your advice. I think i'm going to play .01/.02 till 300 and then 5nl till 500. Maybe i should stick with being overrolled so i can play more freely without killing myself when i lose 1bb. Well i played around with PT. How can i paste the summery onto btp like other people. Well i played maybe 500 hands two tabling. Got $5 dollars and had a BB/100 = 80? whats going on? people are saying like 12 BB/100 is good. Is it because i have not played enough hands? Well anyways its late g'nite

Add this to your favorites http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php

When you take the raw hand history from PT (highlight, copy) then paste it into where it says 'input". It's generally preferred you you don't post the results of the hand where you have the option to do so. Hit convert, then highlight it copy. paste into your BTP thread.

Well a quick update... have not played for a while but i got over my $300 bankroll goal. I started playing .02/.05 but i felt that it was almost the same as .05/.10 because the buyins were the same. I started shortstacking 10nl and would hit and run the tables. After doubling my stack of 5 dollars i would quit the table. I have been quite successful at that and was able to make a good $25 in like 3 hours 2 tabling. Things are looking up for me because i have not been chasing my loses and playing over my bankroll. Because of my success at tournaments i think i will play more on Sundays. Again thanks for the support Pok'7 wished more pros would write in this journal but i can't win them all :P .

Current Bankroll : $325
