Kind of an up and down couple of days...right now i am pretty flat for the week, up about 25 over 4k hands.

I did win $25 tonight playing .5/1 razz. I got fairly lucky but i think its a game that i can be a long term winner at that level and its a good break from 4-tabling 25NLHE.

AND the indians are up 11-3 in the 8th. Go Tribe!

Good, but short, session tonight. 500H +$43 Ran into some truly terrible players and got fairly lucky as well. Only lost one big hand:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

BB ($30.40)
UTG ($20.20)
MP ($58.20)
CO ($14.75)
Hero ($32.40)
SB ($26)

Preflop: Hero is Button with [Kd], [Ah].
UTG raises to $0.75, 2 folds, Hero raises to $2.25, 2 folds, UTG raises to $3.75, Hero calls $1.50.

Flop: ($7.85) [Jh], [6d], [Ad] (2 players)
UTG bets $6.5, Hero calls $6.50.

Turn: ($20.85) [9s] (2 players)
UTG bets $9.95 (All-In), Hero calls $9.95.

River: ($0) [4d] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $40.75

Results in white below:
UTG has Jd Ac (two pair, aces and jacks).
Hero has Kd Ah (one pair, aces).
Outcome: UTG wins $40.75.

Villian had only been at the table for about 50 hands but was playing fairly aggressive. I think it would have made more sense to 4 bet him preflop to about $10 or so but i was thinking he would snap all in with 1010+ and if he did have something like aq or aj i might still stack him with an A on flop.

On the flop i figured i was WA/WB and he would bet/bluff all his chips here no matter what. oh well.

Anyways my BR is up to $917. At $1000 im going to move up to NL50 probably playing just 2 tables at a time at first (instead of 4) but ive played there before and dont expect a huge change in play there.

Well the BR is up to $1016, so i am going to start playing at NL50. Hopefully it goes as well as NL25 has gone the last month or so.

Here is my overall for NL25:

i've found the $50 games on stars to be pretty tough...but then again, i sucks so...

do you play exclusively 6-max or FR?

thanks

the 6-max exclusively...i guess i dont have the patience for full ring...even when 4-tabling. Also, i feel you can isolate really bad players more at 6-max which is where i make the most money.

Played 1400 hands of .25/.50 tonight. I was trying to tighten the difference between my VP$IP and my PFR, and ended up at 16.4/12.7 for the night.

Biggest hand ive played at this level so far and an interesting one:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1592031

Villian seemed fairly weak so far...about 40/20/2.5 and i had seen him raise/call preflop, call CB with T2o. Had seen a few uncalled overbets on flop before as well. I didnt 4-bet PF because i thought i could outplay postflop, maybe that is a bad idea. He pushed the flop immediately after it came out.

I have put in almost 30k hands since i started to get serious at NL25 and NL50, so i figured i would post my PT stats so far to see if anyone had any suggestions...any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Finally had the energy to put in a long session...1200 hands. Was pretty flat, i dont think that I played particularly well, but im not going to be upset with a positive session.

I also have a new saying...whenever someone calls or makes a bad move with a weak hand and i win, i say "what do you think i had, napkins?" Its funny to me.

Also, lol@stickdude calling 2+2 4.

One of the things i pride myself in is being able to react logically to bad situations, emotional events, bad luck, etc. Today, not so much. I guess it shows that this is something i still need to work on. Once i get down a buy-in or two, i really start to play a different game. I start to feel entitled to certain hands and wont be able to let them go. (for example, i hold AKo i get one passive caller to the flop, he check calls, then CRAI the turn. Normally, i fold this against most opponents but i lament my bad luck and call anyway and lose to his obvious 2 pair on the turn)

I was looking through my PT database and found that the majority of my winning sessions are short ones and most of my long sessions are break even or losing ones. I get into the habit of cutting off strong sessions early because i dont want them to become losing ones. I will prolong losing sessions because i dont want to stop while in the red. (yes, i understand how stupid this sounds)

This hand pushed me both to my 3 buy-in and emotional stopping point:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) from (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)

Button ($22.65)
SB ($48.75)
BB ($39.90)
UTG ($60.20)
Hero ($97.65)

Preflop: Hero is MP with Image, Image.
1 fold, Hero raises to $2, Button calls $2, 2 folds.

Flop: ($4.75) Image, Image, Image (2 players)
Hero bets $3, Button calls $3.

Turn: ($10.75) Image (2 players)
Hero bets $7, Button calls $7.

River: ($24.75) Image (2 players)
Hero bets $10.5, Button raises to $10.65, Hero calls $0.15.

Final Pot: $46.05

Results in white below:
Hero has Qd Ah (two pair, queens and sixes).
Button has 8d 8h (full house, eights full of sixes).
Outcome: Button wins $46.05.

Between last night and today, i am down 5 buy-ins at NL50, my worst loss in quite a while. The good news is that i still am up over $500 for the month.

I need to set some ground rules for session length, etc. Here are a few ideas that I have.

1: 2 Hour max time limit
Too many times i am dragging out a session to 3, 4 hours chasing small losses that turn into big ones.

2: 5 minute minimum break every hour
You get it in a tourney, why not in cash games?

3: No stopping a session just because I am winning

4: If i am feeling upset, angry, tilted, frustrated, etc, stop for the night

All of this is very simple, i know, but i think it is simple things that cause a lot of good players to be losing players.

Im going to not play again until at least monday night. If anyone has any ideas/suggestions/thoughts let me know.

Ive been on a bit of a downswing lately, but i feel i have still been playing good poker. Got a lot of hands in today and it was looking pretty bad for a while. First time i have turned a 4+ buy-in loss into a 1+ buy-in win. Plus about $40 in icy bucks. Here is my day.

At least i finished good
