At the risk of jinxing myself, I gotta tell ya it feels great to finally run like Twelver for once.

I cashed out most all my money from Cake Poker and put it on Full Tilt so I could use Poker Tracker in order to help myself learn NL6max better. I started on 9-30-07 and so far have run really well over the first 1900 hands. Now, I know that's a really small data sample, but I can't remember ANY time this year that I have run so well over that many hands. The only downside to this, (if there has to be one) is that when I started this, I dropped back down to NL25 to take out the fear of losing much money while learning. Up over 6 buyins in 1.9k hands. WOOT! I know there are places I can improve, i.e. PFR'ing, so if you see a stat that looks like it may be leaning in the wrong direction this early on, please let me know.

Anyway, here's the early screenshots. If this keeps up, and I can only hope it does, I may have to seriously reconsider the title to my journal.

raise more....you are limping in just about as much as you are raising. For instance the 84d hand above. Obv the original limper is week or he would have raised, so put in a raise 75% of the time you will win the pot right there, and if he calls, you will win the pot on the flop with a CB 75% of the time. Be more aggressive preflop. Other than that stats look good. I like your river aggression number although it may be a little misleading considering you are folding to a river bet over 80% of the time. My guess is this means you are chasing draw a lot to the river and then missing so you have to fold.

Finally had a good session on a weekend which is very unusual for me. Usually the weekend sessions are the toughest on me for some damned reason which I haven't figured out yet, and this one started out that way as well. Thankfully, I started playing better and my hands started holding up. (isn't it funny how those 2 go hand in hand so often? ) A nice 2 buyin (well, almost 2 buyin anyway) win for the day. That puts me at exactly +9 buyins after 5387 hands for a winrate of 8.35 ptbb/100 so far in this NL 6max learning thing starting at the NL25 level. This is doing my poker ego a world of good and has made playing online poker fun again after being such a grind for soooooo long. At least now when I drop a buyin on an allin, it doesn't get me super pissed like it used to. Now I just get pissed, and go on to the next hand. I know this is really low stakes and probably laughable to folks doing this well and better at much higher stakes, but for someone like me who was getting extremely discouraged by having so many losing/break even months in a row, it is a godsend. I can't wait to see if it continues and I am able to move up levels in a couple months.
Image

I even managed a sweet re-suck on a dude who slow rolled a call of my allin on the turn. (he took every last second he was allowed before making the call when he had the nutz at the time) It was sooooo satisfying to do this to a slow roller. I got to feel what it's like to run like Twelver on this hand.

Full Tilt Poker

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with [Ah] [Kc]
UTG raises to $0.5, 4 folds, Hero raises to $1.5, UTG calls.

Hero bets $1.75, UTG calls.

Turn: [Ad] ($6.6, 2 players)
Hero bets $4, UTG raises to $8, Hero raises all-in $22.1, UTG calls.

River: [Ac] ($50.8, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $50.8)

Results:
Final pot: $50.8

Villain had [Jh][Th] of course.

BTW, here's a graph of the entire thing so far. I'm really liking the fact that it goes upwards. :P

Played a fairly short session tonight. Only about 680 or so hands. Was up over a buyin til a bad limp on my part lost me some of my earnings when I got sucked out on. (More on this below.)

Anyways, here's my graph for the day and "project to date" (that's what I am calling this NL6max learning journey) graph.

Image

Here is the 1st big dropoff in the graph. Talk about the turn card being bad, YUCK!
Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
6 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $33.50
UTG+1: $25
CO: $28.25
Button: $36.50
SB: $61.40
SebQtaneus: $29.75

Pre-flop: (6 players) SebQtaneus is BB with [Td] [Jd]
4 folds, SB calls $0.15 (pot was $0.35), SebQtaneus checks.

Flop: [5s] [5c] [Jh] ($0.5, 2 players)
SB checks, SebQtaneus bets $0.5, SB calls $0.5 (pot was $1).

Turn: [Jc] ($1.5, 2 players)
SB bets $1.5, SebQtaneus calls $1.5 (pot was $3).

River: [6c] ($4.5, 2 players)
SB bets $11, SebQtaneus raises all-in $27.5, SB calls $16.5 (pot was $43).

Results:
Final pot: $59.5
SB showed [5d] [5h]
SebQtaneus showed [Td] [Jd]

And here is where I got most of it back from him which is the nice jump up in the graph a short while later.
Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
6 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $12.90
UTG+1: $89
SebQtaneus: $22.80
Button: $53.50
SB: $20.15
BB: $26.10

Pre-flop: (6 players) SebQtaneus is CO with [Ah] [Qh]
UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to $0.85, SebQtaneus raises to $2.9, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls $2.05 (pot was $4.1).

Flop: [8c] [9s] [Qc] ($6.15, 2 players)
UTG+1 checks, SebQtaneus bets $6.15, UTG+1 calls $6.15 (pot was $12.3).

Turn: [9h] ($18.45, 2 players)
UTG+1 is all-in $79.95, SebQtaneus calls all-in $13.75.
Uncalled bets: $66.2 returned to UTG+1.

River: [As] ($45.95, 0 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $45.95)

Results:
Final pot: $45.95
UTG+1 showed [Ac] [Js]
SebQtaneus showed [Ah] [Qh]

And here is where limping in OTB lost me a good chunk of my nights profits. I know I shoulda folded this hand PF but with the limpers in there and the blinds sure to come along, I just couldn't help myself from seein' a cheap flop with suited cards, and hopin' to hit big. If I had folded PF obv this doesn't happen. If I had raised PF, I would have been much more aware that he had a good hand. And if he reraised I coulda got away cheap. Alas, I have not quite overcome these type of hands totally yet. But the good news is, I am making a LOT less of them.
This hand was the 2nd and last big drop in my nights graph.

Results:
Final pot: $21.4
CO showed [Kd] [Kh]
SebQtaneus showed [Qs] [8s]

Overall, up about 2/3 of a buyin for the night. Not terrible, but not nearly as good as it should have been.

I sooooo love this Poker Grapher software. And I also love how there is a nice steady (seemingly anyway) upward trend to this "Project Total" graph after 6k hands.
Stats to this point: 22/12/1.65,
7.97 ptbb/100,
+$241.70 in winnings,
+$39.51 in RB
For a project total of +$290.21

MVP even played at a few of my tables for awhile. Mebbe you ought to drop down a level man, these NL25's can be a killer to the BR dood. Here's your graph for the session since I know you're dyin' to see it. For those not familiar with MVP (if this is even possible) the cliff on the far right in where he snuffed his poker career.

Didn't go so well tonight. I guess it was time for a little bit of a correction as I had been running so well lately. Started off horribly, fought my way back, then got raped by the sandpaperman. Got pissed off at being down over 3 buyins. Took a break, calmed down and managed to fight and scrape back half of what I had lost. I hate to sound over confident because I am definitely not that kind of person but I honestly feel that had I not had to quit for sleep I would have won it all back in the next couple hours.

22/12/1.62

Although there is some question as to whether I should have led the turn or done what I did, it still sux big hairy balls to lose a stack when getting it allin with the best hand and having your opponent make a horrible call and suck out.
