 thanks

I am in Victioria BC right now and I play on party poker.

A few notes I wanna add

I used to think it was lame when people were like " I dont want to play in so and so limit of donkament because it kills my hourly rate" I used to find this sentiment very snobby. Well it looks like I am a hypocrite because thats the mentality I am now going to adopt. Playing in donkaments with a buy in of under 33$ isnt worth my time anymore :( . Not to mention that I am not very good at them. I don't really plan on playing many donkaments in October, but hopefully as I begin to take shots at nl400 I can work on my donkament game and play higher buy-ins, but for now its just killing my hourly and wasting my time!

ok exciting first session on the journal. I dunno how often I can post pics, but hopefully fairly often because I am getting some upgrades to my computer, plus NL manager is coming out which will hopefully speed things up quite a bit.

Lets share some interesting hands, I don't think I will update after each session, but hopefully almost daily.

ok I didn't tilt as much as I thought, which is good. I am reading a few books on tilt right now, plus thats one of the reasons I started this journal. I want to be accountable for my actions.

So overall a good session, also I had a pretty productive day today. I am gonna look at some of these hands, and read a little bit and prob play some more tonight. I am gonna update most likely later

I guess I will give results every couple of days.

Current weight (219)

ok some interesting things have happened. This morning I decided to play some satellites this morning. I played 26$ 10 man satellite and a 35$ ten man satellite. Only 1 seat from each tournament and I won them both! I played in a 320$ MTT (my highest ever) and busted out of the money, though I feel like I played fairly well. I am playing in the 215$ mtt tomorrow.

I really wanna qualify for the PCA, so I have been thinking of some things I could do to be able to go to that, maybe I should just save up some each month? It seems to me that would be the most cost efficient way to do it. I dunno I am all about maximizing time and I think those lower sats lower my hourly so I might stay away from them. I renewed my subscription to cardrunners which is cool. I also listen to a few books on tape today. My online roll officially hit 10k yesterday and from now on I am gonna list my weight at the start of each post, my goal is to get down to about 160 so I have a long way to go.

I also listened to these books on tape today.

I gotta find a way to better organize where all my money is going, so I am gonna get on that. Hmm thats about it for now. I will report back when I have some more stuff to say.

fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk fuck

donkaments are gonna be the death of me. Lately I haven't been concentrating enough and been talking on aim and stuff. Tonight I had a two bad beats and boom tilt city, luckily I was smart enough to quit. For now I am only gonna play sats on the weekends and I am only gonna play in the 300k and the 50k, if that. So no more donkaments, no more sats, unless its the weekend and its to the 50 or 30k. No MORE. Once I get things more organized I might start playing mtts on a bunch of sites, but for now I need to concentrate on my cash game. I will worry about tournaments after I get coaching. Also I decided that I am going to try to go to the PCA but not play in the WPT event, it just seems dumb that I would play in an event near the size of my bankroll. Who knows those plans might change, but thats the deal as of now.

Ok so cliff notes,

no more donkaments expect the 300k and 50k
no more sats except on weekends
I want to go to pca, but not play in the event, tho that could change.
I may play more donkaments after I get coaching but for now I am gonna lay off
I need to work on tilt.
also I am getting some computer work done this week and hopefully with the new nl manager software I should be alot more organized with my winnings.
On a lighter note check out my sweet party background.

hey guys, its been a while since I updated the opoker journal. Alot of cool stuff has been going on, I have arranged to have a few coaching sessions with some very good player, as was one of my goals for this month. I have also been reading alot and working very hard on my game.

I just finished reading this book

Image

I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone who has problems with tilt. I decided to read it after a bad tilt session and I have been more controlled then ever after this past week (since I started reading it). It has alot of practical advice, but I think most of it bears repeating and I really think it would be a big step for anyone that tilts. I also wanna mention that its a fairly easy read, I am a somewhat slow reader and I was able to read 50-100 pages a day no problem. I plan on reviewing the section on tilt weekly to keep those ideas fresh.

I also want to mention that today was the first day I have really broken my diet in a month :( :( :( :( , though it is good I have been able to stick with it this long (which I am proud of) I am going to be starting up again today. I really need to write down my goals and look at them daily. One of the key points in that book is having other things to do besides poker, this is very important for me and I think I need to start looking into several other hobbies (weight lifting, golf, public speaking) I am satisfied with my progress overall but I am just getting started. I am going to update more frequently, I promise! (not that anyone reads anyway 8-) )

Hey buddy, this is a really good update and i love hearing about your progress. I want to mention your thoughts about your diet that you have been on. I know you broke it, but the thing is, it's necessary to break the diet every once in a while. You know how i have been on my diet for 2 months or so, and the only way i have been successful and lost my 20lbs is that i break my diet every saturday and sunday. I don't go crazy but i eat some of my favortie foods, chinese, pizza, and calzones. So i want to let you know not to get down and let your body have fun every now and then :)

Another thing that i'm glad to hear about is your poker success. I love to hear about everything you've accomplished becuase you deserve it more than anyone i know. You have worked sooooo hard and you have been a great role model for a developing poker player. I don't know where my game would be without all your advice. So basically congrats on everything.....you deserve it all!!!!!

Og Mandino's "The Greatest Miracle in the World" I would highly recommended to anyone. Basically it echo's alot of sentiments that I have read in other self-improvement books. Such as we are a nation of mediocrity, and we don't really enjoy the true gifts we have until its too late. Its a short read and you could probably finish it in one setting if you really wanted to, but the story is very very good.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
