Hey all.

Since everything took a dumper for me poker-wise in the last 6 weeks ... I decided it was time to sit back and re-evaluate what it is that I'm doing.

I mentioned in my former journal that I planned on getting a job for the time being. I think this is going to be the best move for me. I'm starting completely over with poker. (Hence the name change and everything ... I'm really wanting to do a fresh start here.)

I figure my biggest downfall the last time around was needing the BR for a paycheck. I'm going to take a lesson from KennyG this time, and make sure I'm massively over-rolled before I put myself into a situation where I'm making regular withdrawals again. The other reason this all makes sense to me, is that I can continually re-invest my winnings, thus accellerating my BR growth, and getting me up to the limits I want to be at. Once I realized that if I'd just kept reinvesting, I'd have a killer BR right now, the decision was made for me.

I'm starting over with $100, and plan on doing one of those $100 to $50,000 in 1 year type deals.

I'm going to be starting right at the bottom, doing 5-man SNGs, and playing the 10/20c PLO tables. Standard BR rules apply to moving up and down limits.

So here goes!

Starting over should take away a lot of the stress.

I have great confidence that you will be moving up quickly through the lower PLO limits. Those idiots don't stand a chance.

I totally didn't realize this is the issue. I thought you might have been banned or something (cause that's what people get around here) and I didn't notice why it happened (because I never noticed why someone got banned, well, except MVP, but his was OBV )..

Well that didn't last long. Current BR = $0.00

I'm taking a month off ... I'm so burned out on poker and just bloody frustrated with the game in general. I did not know it was possible to run so bad. I busted out of 8 SNG's in a row last night. Odds of busting out on any given 1 are about 40% (3-man payout, 5 man seated.) So from the outset ... that's like what ... a percent of a percent of a percent possibility of that happening?

Some fun situations included flopping top set with AA and still losing ... shoving KK preflop and losing ... losing every damn coinflip ... etc etc. It's not exactly like I'm getting my chips in the centre for no reason. I've never had it happen, but I think it's the same kind of feeling you'd get to find out your girl's been fucking your brother or something like that. Kinda ... downcast. Maybe it's just God's way of telling me that he has some other plans for me at the moment.

So yah ... I'm taking a bit of time off to recharge. I'll come back to it in November, or maybe even December. I've got some other things I'm going to focus on for now while I 'heal up' on the poker angle. Just can't take any more for now.

I felt better reading a comment from KennyG today about how his down streak lasted 6 months ... not that I felt good about Kenny losing ... but at least for me I've only had 2 months of complete and utter shit ... so it's nice to know that it could be worse.
