My Life: Work full time, married, no kids, new house

Poker history: Started Poker 18th July 2006 playing Fixed limit. Never got to grips with it, and after losing £250, desperation made me turn to 10 seater No-limit around December time.
Found I could hold my own, and gradually turned it around this year, making steady if unspectacular progress. I changed to 5/6 seater tables in May and progress improved and I broke thru into Positiveness on 5th Sept 2007 with a (rarely played) Tourney success finishing 2nd.
My chart peaked on 10th Oct reaching £347, since then I have crashed and burned to 6 (six!) 90% to 10% bad beats, costing me a total £250. Nasty stuff. So now I need to take stock a little, get it out of my system, and relax a bit.
My current profit is £122. I will write my trials and tribulations down....Wish me luck.....

Opened up an account on PartyPoker today, just getting used to the tables for a bit.
Up $10 after an hour on .25/.50c.
However on Virgin, my Pot has all but disappeared. From 25th Sept, it has gone from zero to being £250 on the 10th Oct and back down to £2.46. Wow. I'm gob-smacked. and a bit baffled.
Had some shocking 90% beats, but my wins aren't as much as they should be. Hence i'll be studying on Tracker the hands I play on Party as Virgin is not set up for Tracker.

This is depressing....

Tonight is only the 2nd night in 14 I have made a profit (and it's so small it barely shows!)

I need to play tighter..my variance is just too much at the moment. Up and down £100 over last 4 days. I've analysed my cards on Tracker, and I am going to limit them to a range I am happy with, and ditch the ones that are poor rates of return. This may mean playing more tables ! At the moment, 4 is more then enough for me !

Don't go jumping to conclusions and ditching hands before it's time to do so.... Do it after you have a decent sample size.

Well, TBH, maybe it's for the better if you just really tighen up and go from there..

Well, one thing that you will probably learn is that when tightening up, players will put you on a range a bit easier then before, BUT, it's way better to learn and do this at NL10 or NL25 then NL100 or NL200... Trust me, I've been down that road..

I'm not sure if swearing is allowod on here, so i'll control my emotions.
Today I went back into the red. A situation I never thought I would be in again.



I am so f**ked off with Poker.

I need to seriously consider what i'm doing here, because I cannot understand how these hands I play lose like this. I need to analyse my hands, but right now I am so hacked off I don't know what I'm looking for.

Am i over betting post flop, under betting pre-flop.? I have read books, read on here, study hands, use Tracker and Hud...maybe i'm just unlucky.

Maybe its time to quit.
