So the question is...I am supposed to call the turn here, correct? The total pot was $229...it was $50 for me to call with the nut flush draw and a gutshot (thought I thought there was a possibilty a flush was already out.)

I'm actually shocked that you called here. That is such a coordinated board and you can't assume that your pair of queens is going to hold up at a showdown. I actually thought UTG+1 had much more of a monster than he did by the way he checked and then cold-called a re-raise. The board is so coordinated and there are 2 large bets in front of you...you have to assume that when you hit your gutshot you are probably splitting or a flush makes it no good, giving you just the nut flush draw when it is possible that someone already has it. I'm still trying to figure out how you are justifying a call here...

obvoiusly my pair of queens are no good. I put them both on a jack for the straight though with a small possibilty of a flush.

I was assuming I had 9 outs for the flush which is 1 in 5 on the river. I was short around $20 to be exactly 1 in 5 pot odds...i actually calculated it before i called.

but thats why i'm asking if this is called by most people or not..i am unsure myself, I don't get into many situations like this.

Against a made flush you've got 7 spades left to hit in 46 unknown cards (assuming one oppo has flush and one has straight, disregarding the straight player's cards as known). Thus you have a 15% chance of hitting. You have to put in 19% of the total money at the end. Thus it seems to be negative EV unless there's a significant chance that neither player has a flush.

I really didn't think either had a flush though. I was wrong. Some loose calls on my flop raise. Before the turn card...I figured UTG+1 had AA without a spade. His all-in on the turn changed my mind. JJ was the only hand that made sense...or perhaps AJ.

The other guy was a loose moron....but considering i had the ace of spades....i dunno...i give my opponents too much credit ...i just don't think they would play something like Q4. This is one of the reasons I find it hard to adjust to Party instead of Prima in the mornings. I think I'll start a seperate thread on that fact.

I'd like to hear some other thoughts on this hand....
