So I did another 2miles straight today.
I've heard of "finding your legs" but I've never actually experienced it. Generally it's only ever in reference to longer distances (certainly longer than 2miles!). But, I felt like crap for the first 3/4 mile as if it was gonna be a real struggle to 'want' to finish the 2miles (there was never a question of not finishing, just that it'd be very little fun)...but, then suddenly I felt awesome. The plan was to just do 2 miles @ 10min pace. But for the last mile, every minute I increased my pace by 0:11/mile...and for the last 4 minutes, but :22 or :33 so that the last minute was at 7:30min pace.
I also noted that I don't even consider anything slower than 8:30 to be "running" and even then, it didn't feel like actual 'running' until at least 7:30.
When I was training to do a sub 40min 10k, I was running at 6min miles.
For that training I'd do 400m laps (a full lap, then half a lap walking, then full lap, etc) at 1min laps. Which is 4min mile, but LOL @ ACTUALLY being able to do that for more than 400M...but, fwiw, I doubt I could break 1:20 400M (in another month I bet I could).
