After replying to your stats post, I decided to peek at your journal.

Congrats on a + session. But, I'm curious if you tried to tighten up at all preflop this session. I don't believe in the luck evening out part after seeing the stats. Not trying to be harsh...just pointing out that if you've played the same you have been and suddenly have good results, that can be misleading and allow you to believe that your "downswing" was just bad luck.

I went through a stretch a while back when I would "run bad" at 25nl and then drop to 10nl (though properly rolled for 25) and "run good". Somewhere along the line I convinced myself that I just ran bad at 25nl. Through a good winrate at 10nl and some tourney cashes, I had the br to move up to 50nl. I pm'd a regular on here and asked his opinion about moving up, and thankfully he was good enough to tell me if I was "running that bad" it was because I had leaks. His being straight with me was what I needed to make me realize that until I became honest with myself and take responsibility for my part of "running bad", I would never improve.

I guess my point is that when you suddenly have a good session after running like ass, it's easy to believe it's the luck factor. Rarely, if ever, is that the case.

so.... I run shitty at NL100 but am doing pretty goot at NL200...... both of which I am rolled for..

THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD PLAY ABOVE YOUR BANKROLL.. (I'm drunk and since there has to be a point, there's one)

I hear what your saying Chase. I did tighten up slightly (running at about 24% V), but the luck was there too...hitting a couple of sets when an A was also showing so sucking someone in.
But what was more encouaging was the fact that I played 5 tables in total, and was up in all of them (to a greater or lesser degree).
I am using some different HUD stats, which is putting a different slant of things, so maybe I'm just getting that edge back on paying attention, rather then just playing the cards.
Hope so anyway.

PS: Red - Hope you've sobered up .!! (and hope you weren't playing, but if you were - let me know which table you'er on next time ! ;-)-u

I'd have thought 10/xx on a 6 player table is too tight because ppl know what hands yr playing, but, yep 24 is still too loose.

Blast. Another losing session.
Slightly alleviated by a donk calling my Full House with only a pair of Aces after the flop.
I seem to be losing about $10 / 100 hands consistently playing 0.25/.50 6 players.
I've tightened up further to 22%/14% stats but the graph is still pointing downward.

I need to drop down a level methinks. I am consistently losing and at the same rate too as can be seen on the graph.

Just re-reading my journal from the start, my graph for Pokerstars actually looks remarkably similar to my Virgin graph.
A upward trend, followed by a downward spiral in about the same timescale.
Odd.
