Not sure if my luck has actually changed finally or if the guy standing at the doom switch just took a vacation. I've actually won money the last 2 nights as hard as that may be to believe. Took me most of last night to finally work my way out of a hole I dug early but I did it. Then tonight I managed to NOT dig that same hole and ended up making almost 2.5 buyins. Kinda weird actually, it feels like I should be exstatic for finally having a real good winning session again but instead I am just kinda feeling like bleh. As though I just know it's not gonna last. Hopefully I can have a couple more winning sessions and get out of this funk I am feeling right now. It's supposed to be a good feeling when you win is it not?

Anyway, I took a couple of screen shots of some graphs in the hopes that it will help my psyche to see and share them.

I've been 6 tabling these last 2 nights. Dunno if thats a good thing or not but I'm managing to win while doing so, so I'll probably continue as long as the winning keeps up.

Tonight's session. Just kinda blinded down for the 1st 100 hands or so. But the stretch from about 100 to about 310 was fun.

Image

I'd almost forgot what these kind of graphs looked like.

Was surprised to see that I am actually in the black for the month now. That is a very awesome sight for sore eyes!
Image

Even the overall graph has a nice upswing at the end of it for the last ~3k hands or so. Too early to get my hopes up?

If I don't bet the river here, can I call him if he pushes? I felt like he would have raised me on the turn if I was beat which is why I bet the river, but I'm not sure I should have bet so much. After the hand, he said he was "giving me the flush", so I guess had I bet less on the river he was calling and may have had me beat. I'm lost as to what my correct play was in this situation.

I only minraised the flop here hoping to get a free peek at the turn & river cards while not getting "too" invested in the pot if I didn't hit my draw. LOL, would this be called a blocking raise? I was literally like "WTF?!!!" when I saw his hand at showdown here. This was the kind of villain play that I had only ever seen happen for Twelver in Vegas back in July.

First time I've looked at your journal Seb...

you got a lot to learn. GL.

Best advice I can give you is:

Be a nit (15vpip / 11pfr) while learning the game and improving your hand reading skills. Then you can open up your game more.

Furthermore:

Listen to twelver.

Don't Min-check raise flops. Actually Min-raising is rarely an optimal raise size so general rule is don't ever do it.

Don't be afraid to 3bet PF.

Pay more attention to your position. Raising hands like T7s from UTG+1 is marginal and considering you are not the strongest post flop player, I would not recommend it.

3 bet sizing.... If you play at a site with a "pot button". Then the easiest answer is to raise pot if you are in position. When you are OOP hit pot then add on a couple more big blinds and bet that much.

I had a really nice 2 session day of poker today. 6 and 8 tabled mostly. It's getting easier for me to do now but I still have some trouble keeping track of whats going on when there is so much mouse clicking to be done.
Made about 3.5 buyins in just over 1k hands. December is back to being a black month for me so far and I definitely can't complain about that! And I have a buyin worth of RB so far as well.

I know y'all are shakin your heads wondering why in the hell I would even call from the BB with this hand, but I had 8 tables going at the time and with all the clicking I was doing right at that moment, I'm pretty sure I just saw suited cards and the fact that I already had money in the pot with only a 1/2 bet left to see a flop. Turned out well though. I finally even got to be the person making the CR for once!!!
