craziest session ever. I just got home from putting in a 23hr straight session at Winstar. Playing 2/5nl for 15hrs then 2/5plo game got going so I switched to that til it broke and I went home. The plo game was sick sick.
And I had this one insane hand where I get all-in in a $3100 pot on accident. This hand happened about 21hrs into my session and after having been awake for over 30hrs. Therefore, my mind is not all there at this point. So here it goes.
6 players limp. I complete in the SB with
and the BB checks.
Flop
($30)
I check, not really remembering what I had. BB and UTG check, MP bets pot ($40), 2 callers, Button re-pots it to $215.
Now the actions on me. I have a ~$1200 stack cause I won a couple nice hands earlier in the night. Most players have me covered including the button. So I figure the button has to have the nut straight here for that player to make that raise. I look at my hand and I'm like "o wow, I have the nut straight as well" then I look closer and realize I also have a 8hi flush redraw. So I think for a lil bit. Analyzing the fact that if I can get it all-in with BTN and my flush draw is live then I will be in very +ev situation but if he happens to have a bigger FD then im somewhat fucked. But I eventually decided to just stick it in and hope for the best. Plus if he does have higher FD I did have my miracle straight flush out plus 2 blockers. So I re-pot to around $800 total.
Now the BB, who is a rich live one that is stuck $2500 in the game, goes into the tank. Eventually he decides to shove his stack allin saying something about "let's gamble." He had ~$1200. After, he goes all-in is when I realize I do NOT have the nut straight but the second nut straight. At this point I'm like "O shit" I just donked off my stack cause I'm so tired and not thinking right. However, I am putting BB donk on some kind of draw and figure my second nuts is good against him.
Its folded to the original MP bettor only has $350 left and after some deliberation he decides to call saying he needs runner runner.
Next, its back to the BTN and he actually mucks pretty quickly saying he cant call without a redraw when the tightest player at the table (me) re-pops him. After he folds, I insta-call for my last $400. I'm thrilled cause I am assuming my straight is actually the best hand now. I ask button if he folded J8 and he says yea he had 89J.
By this point, a crowd has gathered around the table from the commotion. And I'm standing, and so is the BB. He saying he needs hearts. And I say "I actually misread my hand and don't have the nuts, but I do have a gutshot straight flush draw". I'm yelling "6 of hearts" as the dealer peels the turn. And sure enough its the fucking 6 of hearts. I shout "ship it straight flush" or something like that. I don't remember exactly. Then I flip my hand over and scoop the pot. Which was very massive because it was mostly red chips. That was the most exciting poker hand I have played to date. Ship it.
The BB donk said he had just a bare nut flush draw and figured if he hit he could get back to even for the day. The MP guy had 2-pair and higher straight draw or something like that. I actually had good equity against those two hands and by pushing the nut straight out, I put myself in a profitable spot. However, if I had realized I just had the second nuts I would obviously have just insta-mucked.
And to Kenny --- I get sleep deprived and win $3k pots. You go buy $36k cars. fuckin newb.
