Alright BTP ... set me straight. Be nice, be cruel, be whatever you've got to be (objective and encouraging would be highly appreciated) ... but I've lost 1/2 my roll in the last 4 days.

I've been kind of stressed out which I don't think has helped very much. I felt a little tilted at the $200 power outage loss, and I took a damaging $500 (total) hit at 2/4. (I was actually doing okay with 2/4, but then a few very large pots took me right down.) One or two of those pots going my way, and this wouldn't have been a problem ... but it is now.

So ... what do I do? Take a few days off? Scale back? Kill a hooker? You tell me. I'm not letting a bustout happen again.

Tx all,
pz

Thanks guys. Here's the plan then.

1. I'm not playing any poker at all for the next 3 days. Sunday I'll come back to it.
2. I'm going to drop down to $0.50/$1.00 ... (my buyins for that level are $25.00.) The 5-Man DnG's will be moved down to $20 (currently playing at $50). This gives me 68 buyins. (averaging the 2)

After 1 week of this, I'll re-assess the situation. Results will be posted for objective feedback prior to any further changes.

I appreciate the help.

So now that that's done ... some other stuff:

Here are my latest 2 'findings' in the world for general random life improvement ... thought I'd share:
1) I'm really impressed with this mouthwash that I bought. The company is J/A/S/O/N "Sea Fresh". It cost me about $7.50 for the bottle. It's biologically active (in the same way as yoghurt is, the difference is that it uses blue-green algae), uses real Spearmint oil, contains sea salts and minerals, grapeseed extract (very good), and aloe vera (also very good). It's alcohol free and isn't full of chemicals.

In a nutshell, the reason I recommend it ... I've had both a healthy and unhealthy mouth. I know how to sense the difference. My dentist explained to me that the mouth is like an ecosystem, and I've even had cavities recalcify (heal without fillings) when the overall system became healthier. (I was quite surprised at the time.) Basically, after about 5 days of using this mouthwash ... I can feel the difference in the biological health of that ecosystem. My teeth are whiter and cleaner, and my mouth feels better. So yes, 5 out of 5 stars for this mouthwash. Amazing stuff.

2) I'm just trying this out ... but I dug around and found a personal organizer at www.airset.com . It has everything you would find in a store-bought personal organizer (calender, contacts, etc.), plus the ability to co-ordinate these with groups (family, business, etc.), a wiki, a bookmarks page, photo album, blog, to-do (or other) lists, files backup, and some other stuff I haven't even delved into yet. I've really been looking a long time for something like this, and it's free. It seems pretty easy to use so far, and I like the layout. Certainly worth a look-see if you're interested.

Alright, that's a night for me. Thanks for the advice again guys ... sometimes poker can just really spin the head around ... and you just need some friends to tell you what you'd already know if you could see straight. Knowhamean? Take care.

Just out of curiousity how is you SNG game? If you're bleeding money from there I would say scrap them and just focus on ring games... You know my motto... Fuck tournament poker.

Thanks Red :P Apparently it's called a fractal from the "Phoenix Set." I don't know what that means, but I like it. It turns out that something I already knew was true, is verified. Due to the cognitive sequencing order of my personality type, the way I observe the world is (partially) to instantly recognize the larger fractal patterns of whatever I'm looking at. Kind of cool, and explains a lot about how I play poker too ... so I thought I'd update to the image. ;p The world through my neo-hippy, no tie-dye shirted eyes.

I haven't been updating this journal as much since I've started using airset to do my daily tracking. Long story short ~ ran down another $300 ... said "screw this", and withdrew enough money to buy my wife a laptop. I didn't want to have nothing at all to show for a good run.

So I started over ... again. (!!!) In addition to everything I did before, I'm now entering a parameter of 10% daily BR growth. (Compounded.) So far I've been at it for 7 days and I'm exceeding that. My expected BR right now should be $496.00, and my actual is $600.00 ... so I'm running about 2 days ahead of schedule. (example: today's goal will be $60.00 ... bring BR to $660.00 ... making tomorrow's goal $66.00, and so on. I should be able to keep this up for quite awhile, but realize that I'll need to drop back to say ... 5% dagrowth after I hit a certain amount.

Everything else is good ... I'm reading "the Poker Mindset" again, although it's inbetween a Buddhism book and a psychology book. I'm working out like crazy ... hitting the gym almost every day, and going pretty hard. I've got a buddy into boxing and I'm going to do some training with him in about a month ... he wants some of my kung fu tips, and I wouldn't mind learning the stylings of boxing ... so we're gonna train together on some program that's designed to be as hard as fucking possible of course. Looking forward to it. * lol *

So yah that's about it. Getting the train moving again, and spending a lot of time on non-poker related things.

Having a 10% BR growth/day is nearly the worst BR strategy I've EVER heard of....EVER. You simply can't work that way. Losing days happen, and you'll blow your BR in a single day if you stay there until you've made 10% - COMPOUNDED too?!?!!!
