Maybe i should try to play more on saturdays. I played about an hour and a half yesterday and couldnt believe how weak the NL50 tables were. I ended up about $60 and ran another buy in under EV.

I screwed this one up pretty bad though:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) Converter Tool from (Format: Bet The Pot)

Hero ($145.20)
BB ($18.40)
UTG ($49.75)
MP ($29.95)
Button ($59.15)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Ah], [Qh].
1 fold, MP calls $0.50, Button raises to $2.5, Hero calls $2.25, 1 fold, MP calls $2.

Flop: ($8) [Qc], [3d], [7d] (3 players)
Hero checks, MP checks, Button bets $6, Hero calls $6, MP folds.

Turn: ($20) [Qd] (2 players)
Hero bets $15, Button raises to $50.65, Hero calls $35.65.

River: ($121.30) [Js] (2 players)

Final Pot: $121.30

Results in white below:
Hero has Ah Qh (three of a kind, queens).
Button has Jd Ad (flush, ace high).
Outcome: Button wins $121.30.

Villain was running at 15/10 over 200 hands and seemed like a very unimaginative TAG so i think i put him on too small a range. A 15/10 is raising a lot more than TT+, AQ+ OTB.

I realized on the turn that i screwed this up big time by not raising pf or on the flop, but i didnt want to check the turn cause he is going to check behind with most hands i want to get value from, and when he pushes here i figure i have to be beat but oh well.

today:

month to date graph:

Image

Fairly happy with today...I am pretty antsy to move back up to NL100 but i keep telling myself that i wont move up til i hit 2k BR. I have played over 40k hands at NL50 at a rate of 3.5ptbb/100, which is good, but not really as good as i expected. I ran at about 6ptbb at NL25 and i was hoping for about the same at NL50.

This made me laugh:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Converter Tool from (Format: Bet The Pot)

BB ($59.45)
UTG ($28.90)
MP ($25.40)
CO ($57.70)
Button ($26.65)
Hero ($52.25)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Js], [Th]. MP posts a blind of $0.50.
1 fold, MP (poster) checks, 1 fold, Button calls $0.50, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($2) [7h], [8s], [9s] (4 players)
Hero bets $2.5, BB folds, MP calls $2.50, Button calls $2.50.

Turn: ($9.50) [3s] (3 players)
Hero bets $7, MP calls $7, Button calls $7.

River: ($30.50) [2h] (3 players)
Hero bets $16.5, MP calls $15.40 (All-In), Button folds.

Final Pot: $61.30

Results in white below:
Hero has Js Th (straight, jack high).
MP doesn't show.
Outcome: Hero wins $62.40.

Another 800 or so hands at NL50 today. Finished up with a modest +$25, but more importantly I won $30 in non-showdown pots. I am really focusing on turn and river aggression as well as pegging players that may tend to bluff with missed draws, etc.

This month so far:

Image

Makes me want to throw up losing 5+ buyins w/o showdown. I know that by losing those pots i am probably able to increase my win@showdown, but there is no way that losing this much is optimal.

I think I have pre-flop and flop play for this level down pretty well, i just need to work on spots to 2,3 barrel, when to call with medium strength hands, etc. I need to focus on how important position is in all of this. Any suggestions/help would be very appreciated.

Oh well, time for bed.

So much for sticking to BR requirements. Played almost 2k hands at nl100 today. Honestly, it didnt seem much different than nl50, besides the fact that it seemed that the players had a better grasp of preflop play. I didnt see too many 40/5 or 45/35 types as at NL50.

Up and down session, won a 250 BB pot drawing out with a FD+gutshot against a set AI on the flop, lost a 200 BB pot with a set AI on the flop to a 2 outer, etc.

Overall, +200, now i almost have 20BI at NL100!
(lost like $60 last night playing NL50)

Just remeber to take a look at Roy's journal.... He's down like 143252498 buy ins getting all in as a big favorite. So try to keep that in mind when considering you amount of buy ins. Unless you run like Semillion and really only need like 3 buy ins for a level usually.

Beat: Charger for my laptop broke. So no PT database, etc. Plus $35 for a new one on ebay (and a wasted 20 minutes pleading with dell support, do they really think im going to pay them $39.99 for them to "diagnose the problem?")

Brag: 1000 solid hands at nl100. +$144, ran $50 under all in ev.

Its been very up and down at NL100 so far...since ive been on my desktop, i am up $111 after about 5k hands. Since i cant boot the laptop, i have to guess that i am up about $310 so far after about 8k hands. Not exactly tearing it up but i am happy so far.

Did have a sick hand today where i had AJ in an AJx flop only to run into JJ, A on river ship 2 outer.

Watched 12ers 2/4 video and learned a lot. Basically, i need to be more aggressive, 3 bet more, etc.

Something that i have been considering is either getting a coach, or joining a site to watch videos from pros. Anyone, how does that work? If i am not in the same geographic area as the coach, would we talk over aim, phone, what?

Anyways, good positive session today, almost made up for a really rough one a few nights ago.

and still came out on top. I was very aggressive this session. The above hands are just spots that i was too aggressive/aggressive in the wrong spots. I would like to know if anyone else would shove that first hand. My thinking was he called a 3 bet so the chances of him having a nine was low, and he might make a play on that river hoping to steal from the chopped pot/stop me from bluffing there.

Overall, i was positive on non-showdown pots, and as you can see, i ended up well below my EV. I ran at about 21/18, which im also pretty happy about.

More later.

FFS get that freaky icon out of my journal.

My thought process on hand 3 was that the villain there was very passive post flop, so i was trying to see a turn cheap because i felt he had to have 2 pair/set and would pay off my flush. However, i picked up a gutshot on the turn, he bets again, i should be more sure thats what he has but for some reason i thought i had enough FE/Outs to win there. However, absolutely no FE in that spot. Against most villains, i would shove that flop.

Explain TeamViewer please.

Thanks red.

Graph for yesterday: I think im going to have to get used to the higher variance that more aggressive play/play at higher limits is going to bring.

Nothing like digging out of 2 2.5 BI holes in one session and ending up almost 2 :D :D
