SNGs
I played a good many $5 SNGs and some $1 SNGs. Unfortunately, I decimated my bankroll with some bad play at the $5s and only slightly recovered by playing the $1s.
30 $5+.50 SNGs. Net ($70.50). ROI (42.73%)
85 $1+.20 SNGs. Net $8.70. ROI 8.53%
Overall: 115 SNGs. Net ($61.80). ROI (23.15%)
I'm sure I could have done better - I really played poorly when I moved up to the $5 SNGs. That said - I'll probably be done with them for a while, just because I haven't been enjoying them lately.
Ring Games
I only barely got started back into ring games in January and most of it was dabbling in various games before settling back into Limit Omaha Hi/Lo.
Last night's sessions of omaha hi/lo turned out to be a loser - so while I am showing a loss - not much can be done about it when you just aren't raking in the cash. I admit I wasn't playing optimally last night though (and I'll pretend to blame Ed on that for sitting briefly at one of my tables) - so I probably would've been better off just calling it an early night.

Overall: 13 sessions, 20.917 hours, 1053 hands, $22.77 net
Tournaments
I have played a lot of tournaments over the course of the month. Mostly 10FPP, 0.25 and 0.50 tournaments - but every little bit counts. Of course, my one big win overshadows the month as a whole - but I'll take what I can get!
10FPP tournaments: 17 tournaments, $1.50 net
0.25 tournaments ($100 added): 20 tournaments, ($0.58) net
0.50 tournaments: 7 tournaments $3.53 net
2+.20 tournaments: 8 tournaments, $741.18 net
5+.50 tournaments: 1 tournament, ($5.50) net

Next Month, Poker Goals
I don't really have much for goals at this point other than simply growing the bankroll and enjoying myself. I'm putting in about the maximum number of hours that I am comfortable with and still spending as much time with my family as possible. I will probably aim for 80 real-hours per month as that seems to be where I am comfortable. From my past life of poker - where I managed to put in 120+ I was drawn out because of it - and I don't want to be in that position again.
In terms of money, I'd love to see my bankroll over $1k by the end of the month. Assuming I can continue to do well at the tables, that shouldn't be too difficult.
In terms of tournaments, I'd like to get to another final table and have a positive month for tournaments overall. I will be staying to $5.50 buyins and less for this upcoming month.
If my bankroll does manage to hit $1k - I'll probably start picking up some $2/$4 O8 ring. As stated earlier, if I don't do well - I'll drop back down once my bankroll hits $600.
Next month, I will also finish the bonus I have been working towards. I might withdraw the $100 I put in at that point (to be used for a later redeposit bonus) but it will depend on how I feel things are going.
If I do move up to $2/$4 O8 - I will reconsider picking up a tracker program for results. I'm not sure that I want a HUD at this point - but will decide later.
Next Month, Non-poker Goals
Writing - I need to give myself time to write and actually use that time to write. I have neglected my writing for years now and that is simply unacceptable. I have a family, I have a full-time job, but that doesn't mean I should put one of my passions on the backburner. I desire to be a published author - if I am going to make that happen - I need to be writing.
RPGs - I need to work on my table-top campaign and get things going for it. My last game was run in November - so if I don't get it going soon - it will flounder before it has really begun.
Professional - I need to finish reading material for SQL 2005 administration. Although I don't get certified in this crap - it will only hurt me if I can't answer a question about it when the time comes.
Debt - I need to get a handle on my financial situation. Most of this is out of my hands at the moment because every penny I have is accounted for. That said - there are still areas I can work on. Also, I am hoping to have a tax refund this year (tax appointment is this Saturday) and I am hoping that my wife's law suit settles in our favor as well (and soon hopefully). If both of these turn out to be sizeable - this is a realistic goal. I don't know if it is reasonable to expect them to be sizeable though - so I'll have to wait and see.
Cleaning - Sad that I need an entry for this. My house is disorganized at best. Hopefully putting an item here for it will help it get organized. I'm aiming to take down the fake tree and other Christmas stuff and hopefully get to the bedroom closet. If I take care of those two things this month - I'll try tackling my front porch too (though that might be better to wait until Spring so it is warmer out there...). I don't regret being disorganized - I do have 3 kids afterall - but if I am able to get things going, hopefully it will stay that way.
In other news
Just a word about other stuff going on. It looks like my wife might be getting promoted. She is currently a bartender at two restaurants (owned by the same people). She works Thursdays (on the bar), Fridays (as a waitress), Saturday (on the bar and/or as a waitress) and Sunday (on the bar). If she gets the promotion - she won't have to waitress anymore (something she doesn't really enjoy), she'll get one or two more bar shifts (to account for the loss of the waitressing), a pay raise (always good) and will be Head Bartender at one of the restaurants. This is long overdue - as she has been working for these people for years and has been passed over once before (for a person who turned out to be very bad for the position and ended up getting fired...).
My kids continue to grow like weeds... my youngest (currently 10 months) is as tall as an 18-month old and is now primarily wearing 24-month and 2T clothing. He's huge. My oldest son (not quite 5) is almost taller than my 8 year old nephew. My daughter is taller than any kid in her preschool class and taller than all but 2 in her brother's preschool class (her brother is one of the two...).
