i don't know what stakes brystmar plays at, but i find that most players at lower stakes play fairly consistently. that is, you can profile them with pt stats.

a few extra comments:

1) i find that if a player's playing style doesn't match his profile, then i need to pay attention to what's happening and why.

2) at higher stakes, you often have to adjust not only to how a player is playing in general, but how he is playing against you. no hud can help with that.

3) 100 hands can be misleading. i personally hate that idea. i know that i've been wickedly card/flop dead for 100 hands, so i'd look like a nit. on the other hand, when i'm catching cards and my semi-bluffs are working, i look like a lagtard. looking at my last 100 hands could easily provide some misinformation about my style that day.

4) 100 hands doesn't give you much to work with. i look at stats like w$sd, w$ raise turn, etc., and these stats are worthless over 100 hands. with a lot of hands, they can be very informative. there are a lot of stats that show tendencies that can be easily exploited (e.g., when people like to fold). they can be misused, for sure, but this gets back to my original premise -- it's just a tool that is only as effective as its wielder is proficient.


only use pt and a hud if you know exactly why you are using it. if you don't see the value, then it's not worth using.

Using a HUD and purposley setting it for only the last 100 hands is on of the dumbest ideas Ive heard in a while.
