According to Cake support, rather than detect the use of the HUD they're monitoring that 2+2 thread and will keep changing the HH format to prevent the converter from working, so in practical terms it's a moot point as neither will work for long. :D

The HUD wont work , but if all you want to do is keep track of your hands and every now and then look at other players stats, it will work fine.

Every time Cake changes their format, the convertor will be changed. As I said, if all you want to do is spot check your stats and other peoples results, you dont have to load hands every session or even every day. Its no big deal to wait a few days for the convertor to change to load your hands.

Although, it wouldnt surprise me if the guy gets tired of changing the convertor over and over which would be fine with me also.

Ice, there are things that can be done programmatically to change the HH format so often and so unpredictably that maintaining that converter is going to be a full time job for him. :D

As I said, I hope thats the case, but I doubt Cake will put out an update all that often.

Played some more last night - dropped another $300 at the $100's for a total loss of just over $500. No really bad hands; just 4 hours of slowly leaking chips with no big hands. On my last table of the night, I went 87 hands before winning a single pot - never even won the blinds once. But I've had nights like that before - all you can really do is keep folding.

Today was better - got almost $200 of it back.

Current Bankroll: $3802.34

I have to go into the office this week :(, so I'm not going to be able to play a lot.

Only 174 hands tonight, but that was good enough for a $130 gain. I started at $200NL, but left when the table VP$P got down to 4% according to the Cake lobby. None of the other $200NL games looked too much better, so I spent the rest of the time at $100NL.

I'm also spending some of my hard-earned bankroll on some coaching - I'm finally at a level where I can pay for one without wiping out my bankroll, and it wouldn't take much of an increase in my winrate to make it +EV.

Current Bankroll: $3707.79

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

Well, that was short and quite ugly - 192 hands, down $324.65... It's been a while since I quit a session early - even though I didn't feel like I was on tilt, I can only take so much before deciding to call it a night. I won a grand total of 3 pots bigger than 8BB - the entire night. :(

The lowlights -

Ugly river card. This was the hand that made me decide to wrap things up - even though I'm getting decent odds to call, I just couldn't pull the trigger.

$1/$2 No Limit Holdem
5 players
Converted at

Stacks:
Hero ($202.00)
CO ($75.70)
BTN ($185.00)
SB ($253.10)
BB ($200.00)

Pre-flop: ($3, 5 players) Hero is UTG [9c][Tc]
Hero raises to $7, 2 folds, SB raises to $21, 1 fold, Hero calls $14

Flop: [7c][3s][6c] ($44, 2 players)
SB bets $22, Hero calls $22

Turn: [Kc] ($88, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $60, SB calls $60

River: [2c] ($208, 2 players)
SB goes all-in $150.1, Hero folds

Final Pot: $208.00

SB wins $356.1 ( won $103 )
Hero lost -$103.00

Villain in this hand had already shoved over raises 4 times before this - AJ is definitely ahead of his range, and he busted out not long after this when his pre-flop shove with A2o was called by TT. I was lucky enough to catch him the one time he actually had a hand.

CO ($115.10)

Final Pot: $167.50
BB shows: [Ah][Qd]

BB wins $165.5 ( won $82.25 )
Hero lost -$83.25

This was fairly early in the session - it seemed at the time like a good spot to double-barrel, but looking back on it now I'm not so sure.

Had my first-ever coaching session tonight - went pretty well.

A couple hands against the same villain -

$0.5/$1 No Limit Holdem
3 players
Converted at

Stacks:
BTN ($41.70)
SB ($203.85)
Hero ($97.00)

Pre-flop: ($1.5, 3 players) Hero is BB [Ad][4d]
1 fold, SB raises to $3, Hero calls $2

Flop: [2d][Jd][3s] ($6, 2 players)
SB bets $6, Hero raises to $20, SB calls $14

Turn: [Tc] ($46, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: [5s] ($46, 2 players)
SB bets $23, Hero goes all-in $74, SB calls $51

Final Pot: $194.00
Hero shows: [Ad][4d]

Hero wins $193 ( won $96 )
SB lost -$97.00

He called me a moron after that one - a sure sign I played it correctly. :D One area where I definitely need some work is being much more aggressive with draws - raising the flop with a FD + gutshot is probably not something I would have done previously - I would have called the flop bet to try to draw cheaply.

And that hand must have put him on tilt, because this one came up a short while later -

$0.5/$1 No Limit Holdem
4 players
Converted at

Stacks:
Hero ($191.10)
BTN ($44.30)
SB ($104.05)
BB ($215.15)

Pre-flop: ($1.5, 4 players) Hero is CO [Ah][Ac]
Hero raises to $4, 1 fold, SB raises to $12, 1 fold, Hero calls $8

Flop: [Kh][Qs][9s] ($25, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $19, SB calls $19

Turn: [3s] ($63, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $45, SB goes all-in $73.05, Hero calls $28.05

River: [5d] ($209.1, 2 players)

Final Pot: $209.10
Hero shows: [Ah][Ac]

Hero wins $207.1 ( won $103.05 )
SB lost -$104.05 - he flipped over JJ - no [s]

Current Bankroll: $3548.99

I'm looking at my PT stats for 21k hands of $50NL - $200NL...

My 6 biggest losing hands (in terms of BB/hand) -

KJs - 3.14 BB/hand
98s - 2.46 BB/hand
JTs - 2.06 BB/hand
AJs - 1.87 BB/hand
T9s - 1.51 BB/hand
87s - 1.49 BB/hand

anyone else see a pattern there? :)
