March seems to be starting off on the correct foot. This was a 90 seat SnG that took almost as long as the 2300 seat mtt last night. Maybe it was the 3k chip starting stacks that made it last so long? When we got H4H towards the bubble, even the super short stacks weren't desperate compared to the blinds yet.

And I DID manage to finally get some luck (more luck i guess would be correct) in the marginal situations to take it down. MVP says I should starting playing ones that are a bit more expensive to buyin to, but I dunno, until I get a lot of the confidence back that I lost in February, I'm just more comfortable at the $5 - $10 range stuff. Of course, if anyone wants to ride my lucky horse and stake me into the $750k Guaranteed later today I am open to offers. :D

Been a while since I posted anything. But then again, it's been a while since I had anything to post. Haven't run very well this month in the ring games so I've started playing more mtt's and SnG's. Success has been decent so far in both. My latest cure for boredom has been the $4.40 180 seat SnG's at Stars. I guess I owe Alexmr a bit of thanx for this as if it wasn't for him needing money off of stars in order to buy a new fleshlight I would not have had any on there to start playing them. Played 5 so far. After the 1st 3 where I failed miserably, I have rebounded to FT the last 2. Took 6th unfortunately in both instead of a win. These 180's are fairly soft and they start about every 5 minutes. Once you get to where you can get deep in them they seem to provide quite a bit of decent "late stages of an mtt" experience without having to spend 5 hours or more to get there. And being so cheap to buyin, if you make the FT you really start to get a very nice return on investment. 1st pays $216 which I believe is a good return on a $4 investment. I'll be playing a lot more of these in the future on nights where I just don't feel like playing 6max.
Tonight was one of the nights that I DID feel like playing some 6max and for once I had a really good session. It was a bit short at only 211 hands but I won from the git go and never looked back. It seems like forever since that has happened for me. I decided to tighten up my play a bit and weaken it up slightly as well. Although this may not sound like a good strategy, trust me, I have been overly aggro for a while now and it just hasn't been working for me at the stakes I play at the moment.
Anyhow, the first 3 hands are my biggest winners of the session and the last one is my biggest loser. If only my biggest losers could all be this size of pot!

This may actually show my best move of the session. And that would be deciding that even though it's been a short session, it's been a winning one all the way around and quitting while up almost the maximum of the session. I've seen enough graphs on here the last few months where some of you NL200 guys and above have won like 5 - 10 buyins halfway through your session only to keep on going and then drop it all to even or below. And then of course someone without fail makes the comment that you should have stopped at such and such hand which is always the highest point on the graph. Well I decided to do just that this time and let me tell you, it feels great! Try it. Then forward me a % for giving you the best time of your life.

Could the green line possibly look any better? (if your answer is yes, I don't want to hear it. )

Had another session just like last night except longer. This session I did dip below even for awhile because of two ugly 1 stack donkoffs that I made. But I buckled down and started paying more attention and got it all back plus a nice profit. I also did like last night and quit at the height of my winning instead of pushing the session into that time of day where I start to nod off and stack off.
Image

I've still got that green line above the other 2. That's gotta be good.
Image

This was my biggest pot of the night. Both of us 2 stacks deep and my AA doesn't get cracked after getting AIPF. Sure feels good when you really get paid off well on a hand.

All in all it was a decent night after a boring day where I had to attend an inlaws funeral. I even finished ITM in a 9 seat SnG and almost made the money in another one of those 180 seat SnG's. Top it off with a RB payment for last months play and this turned out to be a really good day compared to the majority of days last month.

After the last 2 days of running fairly hot, I'm not sure what to think about tonights session. Feels like a big waste of time to be quite honest. Longest session I've played in a few weeks. I do believe this is the first time I've ever played this many hands and end up breaking exactly even. I guess that's not too terrible when you look at my luck graph though.

Flop: [5s][3h][4h] ($1.5, 2 players)
SB bets $1, Hero raises to $4.5, SB raises to $15, Hero goes all-in $24.25, SB calls $9.25

Turn: [Ts] ($50, 2 players)

Final Pot: $50
SB shows: [6d][6c]

The session as a whole wasn't too bad either.

Yeah, we'll just pay off the donk who raises garbage UTG, then calls a 3bet with same garbage, then calls a flop bet with TPNK. And then let's let him win when he's more than a 90% dog (according to pokerstove) after the turn card comes and CRAI.

I must admit to raising J9 UTG but it's normally soooted, however...

Is it normally a good idea to 3 bet an UTG raiser with a relatively weak holding in comparison to his likely range there? Or did you have a read he was a donk?

Either way, pretty fkin sick river...

Been awhile since I won a pot this size. But then I guess it's been awhile since I played NL100 as well I guess. Still, was nice to win a big pot either way.

I do have a question if anybody cares to answer.

The villain in this hand had up to this point (about 125 hands) seemed like a decent player. His stats were almost exactly the same as mine at this table (21/15) and he had a large stack at about 4 tables so I figured he wasn't terrible. When he called my push, it was instant. In chat afterwards I told him that I hadn't expected him to pull the trigger and call and his only reply was "Auto". Is he correct in this? Should a person just auto call for a full stack with a FD and 2 overs? I wouldn't have thought so, but maybe that's one of my mistakes. Seems awful risky, especially against someone who has similar stats as he does. What say BTP?

I couldn't believe he made this call. It's a knockout tournament and on the flop he only has 960 chips left so I bet enough to put his tourney on the line even though it's an overbet. I would have thought that he would see my bet as trying to win a bounty and not necessarily as me not having an ace. Or maybe that I have an Ace that I'm trying to protect against a FD. But he called me with A2 anyway. This dropped me down below 900 chips and I was out the very next hand with AQo AIPF from UTG vs 77, I don't improve. Easy come, easy go I guess. :P
