Vampire tale set in an alternate world.

Vampires form a "brotherhood" that seems to be modeled on the catholic church. The vampires have a relationship with humans and protect and serve them (generally). The relationship between humans and vampires is threatened when a secret expirement goes wrong and infects the human population and one of the brothers. Dougray Scott as brother Silus fights the corruption in the brotherhood as he tries to control the damage done by the plague.

The movie also includes Saffron Burrows, and a competent cast.

Overall the movie left some gaps in the plot, but was an enjoyable vampire/scifi film.
