I have never claimed the earth isn't warming. My claim is that the earth goes through warming and cooling cycles all the time. Humans will come and go like most of the planets creatures have, but the earth will move on just fine without us. I refuse to get hysterical about natures natural cycles.

I don't get the statement: They show that when the world began to glaciate at the start of the Ice age about 35m years ago, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere stood at about 450ppm.
If CO2 levels are high (which they are implying 450ppm is) then the earth should get warmer...but yet they are saying here that at the beginning of the current Ice Age we had high levels of CO2. What am I missing?

I don't know whether or not we are the cause of the current trend but since the survival of any decent quality of life for humans (in the geological 'short term') is dependant on climate it's important for us to understand it. Just last night I watched a show on ancient Egypt and they have found that there was a climate change on the Earth about 4200 years ago that lasted for ~200 years. There was a slight warm-up and drought (and a corresponding mini ice age in northern America and northern Europe) and the Nile did not flood annually and as a result the Egyptians resorted to eating their own children. So ya...it's kinda important.

ED is 100% spot on this issue, namely that it does not matter if we are "responsible" for it or not, the effects are the same.

They sure were...they've changed tack only recently. But still, they won't speak of global warming...only climate change and being good "stewards". Do you really need all the sources from when Bush pulled out of Kyoto?
