So poker sucks and I'm down like $1600 since that last brag post. Ugh. But on a very bright note, I've branched out into a new area of law.
There are a lot of home foreclosures in California right now. There are a large number of predatory assholes that scope out people who are in foreclosure and offer to help out. They are specifically looking for equity in the home and unsophisticated owners. In the end, the guy who was going to "help" ends up owning the house paying a fraction of the true market value, renting the house back to the previous owner with a 1 year buy back provision (with 20-30% vig), but the rent is in the same amount as the mortgage which obv. the noob former owner couldn't afford in the first place. This is illegal in California, with treble damages and a fee shifting statute.
Gonna file my first million dollar lawsuit in the new office next week. I'm stoked.
