Button is a regular (18/14/3), seems very straightforward, although i have noted that he seems passive on later streets. The limper is a big fish, i think his button raise range here is real wide to isolate.

Check calling is gross, check folding is weak, check raising is suicidal, open folding is pretty dumb, thus I lean towards betting.

Okay I bet 40, he calls. Turn is . Pot is $132, with about 200 behind. Now what?

Bet the flop - he can't fold if you don't. From his pov, that flop hit you hard.
By the turn, you can't get value from worse and I really doubt he folds 2pr. C/f feels crappy, but I'm sure it's right.

Got to raise more preflop to take away his positional advantage postflop. 30-32 works for me. And I would not 3bet preflop unless BB squeezes a lot since I want the fish in the hand way more than a marginal situation postflop against a TAG.

If you raised more preflop, I would just check/fold as I would think people would be folding 67s-78s hands to that large raise, but they might feel priced in with your raise. That is about the only bluffing range I would worry about against him as I don't think he'll turn his 88 into a bluff if you check to him on the flop. Now, I'd just bet/fold, although I really hate that.
