that's some good advice. i have been trying to three bet under a few conditions: like, if co opens, button calls, and i repop from the sb or bb (given a decent preflop raising % from co); or someone opens and I have a three betting hand (like aa, kk, etc) (or a moderate hand and position); or, reraising light some douchers who think the button means you have no choice but to raise. and such.
i do like your suggestion about 3betting people who call too lightly and then play wt, though, i never really thought about exploiting that. thanks buddy!
i hate how people love nietzsche.
you know, i've often drawn the parallel between philosophy (analytic) and poker. on similar lines, i think of chess being akin to math or physics. my reasoning is this: chess is like math or physics in that each decision (or deduction) has immediate and apparent consequences.
the thing about poker and philosophy is that there's this thick layer of bullshit covering an underlying game of reason. people get turned off philosophy because it's 'mental masturbation' or whatever, but they never see the underlying logical core, the underlying form of it all. likewise, people never get to see logical content of poker, because of the huge layer of bullshit, aces getting cracked by 56, set over set and then the underset pops quads, etc. they see this shit and they think 'hey this is like all about the improbable'. they never see that this game is different, that the core is, like philosophy, a pristine fucking logical form.
their loss, not mine.
