I don't think it is rocket science.
I got a 4gb refurb from the web site.
I use iTunes so I stick with apple.
I know this isn't helpful, just trying to say dont over analyze unless you r planning on buying a really expensive one.

The new Nanos are 4 or 8 GB. Basically you want to decide if size or capacity is more important.
You will use the space more quickly than you think. So I would get a 8 GB Nano (I have one on order from Hollywood Poker right now) or if you want something bigger get an 80 or 160 GB iPod classic.
If watching videos is a feature you want, probably the iPod classic or iPod Touch is the way to go due to screen size. The Nano will still do video but the screen is small.
