I got a letter audit saying I owe another $1,500 or so. The IRS missed the decimal point on my application of refund from last year, from $1,694 to $169.40. The call center is apparently unmanned, since I can't get through like ever (gonna try 6am tomorrow). In the mean time, since I "owe" the IRS money according to their records, I don't receive the economic stimulus check.

Fuck.

Paging T-Rod or Big Leon for inside number to the IRS and someone that can fix this so I can get my check.

The only guys I know are consultants that deal with long-term issues. Ugh.

How about calling the rebate hotline and explaining. Maybe you can at least get in some queue or something so you dont' get stiffed.

I got a letter audit last year and got thru to the phone number listed with only a short wait time. Try different times of the day.
