I came overfrom UPF. My first post.

I played two hands today where I was dealt 1010 at the party $50 rooms. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I've only been at the table for 5 hands. I don't really have any reads, but the table is loose. I have a stack of $60 and limp w/ 1010 UTG. The flop is seen 6 hand. Board shows 5 6 8. I lead out for $7 and a MP player re-raises all in for $35 total. What do you do?

Different table. This is my 1st hand at the table. Stack of $50 and I'm dealt 1010. 3 players limp and the sb completes. I decide to try to narrow the field this hand. I raise to $5 and I'm called by everyone except the small blind. The flop is 257. I lead out for a $15 bet into a $20 pot. It's folded to the LP player who raises me all in. What do you do?

Quite how Pokertracker shows me in profit with 10's is a mystery, I find them very tricky to play.

I'd say hand no. 1 is a fold. You've bet in the hope that everyone'll fold or at lest get a caller that'll then fold to the merest or bets on the turn. Unless the guy has A7 or 9-10 I would hope you're looking at a set, 2 pair or the actual straight or possibly jacks. I assume there's about $13 in the pot to him and you'll have to call $28 more in real terms. Without a read on the player I'd say fold. The likelihood that he has a single pair SHOULD be slim, combined with the possibility that he could catch another of his cards anyway means I figure it not to be worth the risk.

Hand no.2 I figure you to be in better shape than hand 1, no possible straights, plus there's enough money in the pot that MP player might just be tanking it in with A7 and crossing his fingers. This really is the best flop 10's can hope for besides a set, I think if you bet plr flop with tens then without reads then you have to be happy with this flop. I think you're in better shape than the first hand, plus there's more money in the centre. I'd call and hold my breath.

So what happened, what did you do?

Hand 1 is a CLEAR fold. Nothing really to think about.

Hand 2 is a bit tougher, you didn't say whether the flop contained a flush draw or not. I'd be more inclined to call if there was two of a suit. Either way I'd probably lean towards folding.

I fold hand #1 for sure. He probably has a pair and a draw.

I fold #2 also depending on the size of the all in (you didnt say). Just about any pocket pair beats you. When you bet pot and he still raises all in , you can bet its not a bluff.

I folded the first hand pretty easily. He could have a number of hands since there was no raise. IIn hand two, there were no flush draws out there. The LP player had me covered and raised me all in. I called and he had 55. I need to work on folding overpairs on boards like that. Thanks for the help.
