I've been experimenting limping in EP with jacks and had a situation come up today that I was hoping to get some opinions of. I had jacks UTG and limped, UTG+1 folded and UTG+2 minimum raised. There was 1 caller of the minimum raise in middle position and then it folded back to me. I wouldn't normally play jacks like this, but I really felt like a call-raise was appropriate here. The minimum raise was weak, and the call doesn't mean much. The problem is that I want to take the pot down preflop and not have to play any kind of flop out of position, so this needs to be a pretty sizeable raise. So in a $100 max 100BB blind structure should I make it $16-$20 to go? Does it seem like I'm overbetting to protect a weak hand? Would it be better/worse to shove in here so that they know they are playing for their whole stack? (Seems like overdoing it to me). I wasn't sure at the time so I just called the raise and check-mucked the flop when an A hit the board without a jack to accompany it.

I get way too many people calling my "limp-reraise" with AA for me to say doing it with JJ is a good idea. They will still call. I dont want to invest that much preflop with JJ when I know Im going to get overcards and Im out of position.
