It's heads up at the end of a 10 person SNG, and you're playing against me. I just busted out the 3rd place player on a huge hand, and I now have about 6400 chips. You have 1600 chips, and the blinds are 200/400. You are in the big blind. I'm a pretty aggressive and VERY tight player in the SNG, but I've gotten caught with my hand in the cookie jar once or twice already.

(1) Let's say I limp in from the SB. What kind of hands do you check with, and what hands do you go all in with?

(2) What if I push my chips in? Which hands do you fold, which do you go all in?

If you limp here there are two possibilities. You wanna trap me or you ain't got much and wanna see a cheap flop.
With 1200 left and a 800 pot I would raise all in with everything. You are thight so capable of folding and i got a 3-1 chance of winning the hand which i would take a gamble with to get a chance of first place. If I check-fold here you got a 7-1 chiplead and i don't stand a chance with these blinds.
If I got a group1 hand i would reraise the min or check. to maximise my winnings.

Now if you move all in I would call with every A Or K and I would take a chance with every Q. Any J suited and with str8 chances. Maybe 10,9 and 9,8.
If I am fed up with you I would call everything to take my chance. If I hit it will slow you down on the and I can take over.

To cut it short I would be very agressive and move all in 85% of the times. And it has worked for me in the long run.

Hey, I would be interested in hearing more responses to this thread, I recently moved from 5+1 to 10+1 sng's at pokerroom, and while most people have said that there isn't a difference between 5 and 10, i have noticed that players seem to play tighter, and there are less maniacs, and also that when it gets down to 2-3 players, they seem to usually be alot better players than the maniacs who make the money at 5+1...consequently I have been getting alot more 2nd and 3rd place finishes than I was getting at the 5+1..it could just be short term fluctuations as I have not played that many 10+1 tourneys yet, but still it would be helpful not only to hear what hands people would push in with as the small stack (which I suspect would be quite a few), but also what hands you would call these all-ins with as the big stack (this seems to be more my problem)? any responses would be appreciated...

I have to agree with tommyhawk. If I have anything A,K,or possibly Q I'm all in. Suited connectors of any kind I'm all in. 9-10 os all in. The blinds are going to get me, so I'll take my chances Heads Up with these pockets. My theory is when the blinds are big and your on the SS heads up, you need to become the aggressor. I wouldn't call with crap, but you can't be to selective in that position.
