Postby Al Spath » Tue Dec 28, 2004 3:37 pm

Hi, my name is Al Spath (having contacted tetsuo directly, he asked me post, however I am not sure it is in the right forum section). So if this needs to be moved, not a problem.

I am a poker instructor for Pokerschoolonline.com, the largest online poker school on the net and teach with other fine instructors, that include Barry Tanenbaum, Rolf Slotboom and a host of others. I wrote for PokerDigest, write for LiveActionPoker (now 5th St Magazine), PokerPages.com and a host of other sites including my own.

I would like to hear the buzz or lack of buzz about a site I co-own (www.victorypoker.com). Doyle Brunson has to skin also to this site and yesterday played in a $12 nl event, 630 players, with a $600 bounty on Doyle. He plays there often as Texas Dolly. The site has about $2 mil in prize money awarded each month and mostly Europeons playing on it, although more and more North American players are finding out about it.

I'd like your opinion of it, "the loosest site on the net" as we refer to it. Feel free to knock what is done poorly as well as what seems to be easy pickin's.

All the best, Happy Holidays, hope to read some of your interesting posts in the days to come and when I return from Tunica. Myself and Barry T are presenting at the PSO Convention. My hour is on Middle Limit Poker (10/20 up) and will gladly make the powerpoint available to you (if you wish), following the conference.

Hey Al,

In the absence of other replies in the short term, may I welcome you to the site on behalf of all our members.

I'm sure we would all very much be interested in the conference material - thanks!

And I for one will definitely look into Victory Poker at you request. I hope some of our other members will too.

I look forward to your posts in the future and your return from Tunica.

I checked it out. Looks pretty good.

Have tried to download the software, it requires u to register first.

Upon entering my info it kicks me to a "problem" page. Says it doesnt like my screen name and/or email addy.
I tried about 10 diff names and I only have 1 email addy and it works for all other sites.
If I had just found the site through surfing I wouldnt go back again because of this. (im not very patient)

But since I want to check out the site, to support Al and BTP, I have emailed support w/my problem. (prob just my stupidity anyhow)

Leaving for the evening.(to play live poker, yippeeeee)
Will let u know how support responds.

Downloaded and installed with no problems here.
What they call a freeroll is not free in my book, it requires "Action Points" to enter.
They have "Giveaway" tourneys, so I may have to brush up on my Omaha and Omaha H/L skills.
They are speed tournies with 3 min blind increases, ouch.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

OK Im back home now.
Support responded very promptly and I think accurately. That means alot to me.
Yes, it was my stupidity. I had previously created an acct at Platinum Poker and it wants me to log in using that name and password.
Even got a pm from Al !

Will try again shortly and I will try to act like I have at least half a brain.

Have downloaded the site and played a little in free money.

What I like:

A) The main lobby chat window ( I dont know what it is called) was pretty cool! I wish other sites did this.
B) The pace/speed of cards being dealt and play was pretty good.
C) Attractive colors. (I'm easy.)
D) Cust. support was very prompt and accurate when I had a problem.

What I didnt like:

A) I saw no option for 4 color suits.
B) Only 9 seat tables. I really like 10.
C) The player stat window doesnt refresh on its own. You gotta hit the refresh button every hand to keep it current.
D) I saw no way to get hand history.
E) I play 1/2 thru 5/10 limit and I like to play thru the night. Around 230am eastern only 2 of those tables were full and both were at 1/2.

Welcome, from ATE

Postby AdamtheExpert » Thu Dec 30, 2004 11:41 am

Ok, nice to have a highly-skilled writer here . . . Even if that means that ATE will have to rack my brain even harder to come up with equally-good material!!

B-T-P so totally rules the internet poker discussion scene. Problem is, most people JUST DON'T know it yet!!

Hopefully, with your help this can change. Now, if only Johnny will HURRY up with the hats!

Come on up and visit Minnesota!
