Is there anyway possible to have a chat room added and if so how many people are interested in that?

Tetsuo is the tech geek here so I dont know how easy it would be to do, but I'll discuss it with him.

It might be a bit premature right now though. The site is growing VERY rapidly, but right now there is still usually only 2-6 people at a time logged in. When we start having 10-20 or more at a time on the site I think it would be more useful to have a live chat room.

Ice is right. It's a lot of effort for just a couple of guys shooting the breeze.

why not just goto some IRC joint and register a channel? then add a java client page for players to connect to it? It wouldn't cost anything. The only problem would be moderating the channel. Occasionally you'll get people who will do nothing but distrupt the channel/chat. Enough trusted sysops will do the trick. But if it's only a few people who want to chat, then it's going to be a very dead and quiet chat channel.

Thanks for your suggestion, and that's precisely the solution I've identified. There are quite a few things to think about WRT integrating it into the board.

You are also correct about the number of envisaged chatters being very low. Consequently this feature is not high up on my to-do list, even though I would like to get it out of the way soon if possible.
