Well, I wasnt planning on losing the 2 stacks that I was up the same day I made those statements. I didnt want anyone getting nervous and or upset if I went negative after being up a couple stacks.

I , honestly, was trying to act in everyones best interest. Its a tough situation having to report wins and losses everyday. Maybe it wouldve been better to only do it once a week or something, but most people indicated that they wanted to be much more hands on than that.

I didnt make a single move differently because I was using other peoples money than I wouldve if it was all my money, but it did make me nervous that some people might think it was a big scam if anyone lost money. I mean, if I lost half the stake some people would undoubtedly think that I actually won and just said that I lost.

I dont think the stakers would think that but my so called detractors would. So when I was just about even, I though maybe it was a good time to end it so it could never be said that I ripped anyone off. I mean if I was going to rip anyone off, would I give them their money back or just say "sorry, I lost all your money, it was a bad week"?

They would understand but still in the back of their minds they would wonder. My situation (doing this publicly) was a tough one. I really wanted it to last at least a month and to win a decent chunk of change so everyone would be happy , but unfortunatley, variance reared its ugly head very early.

As far as I know though, none of the stakers are upset.

I am definately not giving up on $5/$10 or moving back down at this point, so anyone who thinks I failed at $5/$10 or gave up because of 1 week of variance is wrong.

I got 3 tables going last night and again for 2 hours today. I think I will play 3 tables of $5/$10 when I can, and work on 6 max games when I cant. At least thats my plan for the time being.

Im half afraid to post my win rate now because I dont want any of the backers getting mad if I go on a nice run, which is another bad side effect of this whole thing.

Ice,

I can only imagine how difficult this is. It is EXTREMELY tough to hang yourself out like that for the whole world to see. But I must say since the day you started this, win or lose this is the thread I look for with the most anticipation every morning (Piers is a close second  ).

When I first read that you were going to end this I had the same reaction that Nash described above. I don't know you personally, but based on the site and posts I know you are a stand up guy and not trying to pull anything. But it could be looked at as you allowed others to share the risk but were not going to allow them to share in any possible gain. I KNOW this isn't the case, but it could be taken that way.

My advice (which doesn't mean anything of course) is to set something concrete once you get this project up and going again as far as a timeline or set amount of hands or money won/lost. Additionally, if you are willing to allow any other backers, I have money that's ready, willing, and able. I'd follow you into battle any day man!

Big Leon

PS, what branch of service were you in and when? Doubt we ever crossed paths but it is possible.

You should consider only giving results to the backers, if it will take the pressure off. It is cool to read this journal about you attacking the higher stakes, but there's no reason (with respect to the deal) that the rest of us need to know the exact numbers.

I don't agree with suhleafs about nash's post. I think nash made a well-written post that was not meant to be derogatory but just constructive critism.

personally I think ice could really do anything he wanted in this situation. He was the player, and he never specificly gave out any date of play stoppage.

However, I think the underlying issue is having more strict guidelines, before attmpting a project like this. IMO everything should be clearly laid out. How long the project will last (the big failing here), exact pay numbers, amount of time to be put in, etc etc etc.

I think of it more as a contract. This way everyone knows exactly what to expect.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Not really a concern... more of a question...

Are you playing on your dime now or the stakers? I know I'm one of the two people you sent money *back* to but if I were to know that it would be going again (I know, who knows these things) I never would have had you send it back. At any rate, I invested in you because I know it's a solid use of my money and I'm curious if we are now reaping the benefits of it. I know the last day or two you had at 5/10 was brutal but it seems you've been climbing again the last few days and as a backer who got his money back I'm guessing that's not part of the deal. Anyway, I'm just looking for some clarity on the issue of when the deal will be back on.

p.s. I think the idea of a private section for the stakers to get the nitty gritty is golden. Get there.

Suhleafs, your response to NashVegas was out of order. Please do not make such flaming posts in the future - BTP is glad to have you here, but we are very 'anti' that kind of post.

Anybody has the right to express any opinion they like on this forum, as long as they do it civilly.

Nash's post was civil, yours was not.

Personally I think you owe Nash an apology.
