I've been drinking a bit tonight and thought of a great experiment. I'll join the loosest limit tables on UB (0.1/0.1) and play nearly every hand. My only exceptions:

a) If there's a raise before me, I'll only play hands in 3 categories: 1) by the book. 2) pocket pairs. 3) any two suited cards.

b) If there's a raise and re-raise before me, I'll only play by the book.

Otherwise, I play every hand. The different between me and the other extra loose players? I will also exercise superb post-flop play. (Not quite as great while drunk.. but still better than most of them I bet.) So far I've only played 150 hands, so my results aren't that precise. I'm down 0.1, which comes out to -0.33 BB/100. Not bad at all for this ridiculous playing. Let me give a few hand examples:

Ultimate Bet 0.01/0.02 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [2c], [9c]. SB posts a blind of $0.01. MP1 posts a blind of $0.01.
UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 raises, MP1 (poster) calls, 1 fold, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB (poster) calls, Hero calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (16 SB) [4c], [Kc], [2d] (8 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, MP3 calls, Button raises, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP3 folds.

Turn: (14.50 BB) [Qc] (6 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, Button calls, SB calls.

River: (19.50 BB) [4d] (5 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, Button calls, SB calls.

Final Pot: 22.50 BB

In retrospect I should have checked to PF raiser, let him bet, and then determine my play from the action there on. I had a pair with a flush draw, I wasn't going anywhere in that huge pot!

Ultimate Bet 0.01/0.02 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [2d], [Jd]. SB posts a blind of $0.01.
1 fold, UTG+2 calls, 1 fold, MP2 raises, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, SB (poster) calls, Hero calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 3-bets, MP2 calls, CO calls, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (18 SB) [5s], [Ad], [7d] (6 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 bets, MP2 raises, CO calls, SB folds, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls.

Turn: (16.50 BB) [9d] (5 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, MP2 checks, CO checks.

River: (16.50 BB) [2s] (5 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls, CO folds.

Final Pot: 19.50 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 2d Jd (flush, ace high).
UTG+2 has Tc Ts (one pair, tens).
MP2 has Ac 3c (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins 19.50 BB.

In retrospect, I shouldn't have check 3-bet the flop. I probably should have just lead the flop since the PF raiser was in MP. That or check-called the raise and re-raise. And then me going for a greedy check-raise on the turn was just stupid. Since I 3-bet the flop, I might as well have bet out the turn!

Ultimate Bet 0.01/0.02 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [6s], [3s]. SB posts a blind of $0.01.
UTG calls, Hero calls, MP1 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, SB (poster) checks, BB checks.

Flop: (6 SB) [3h], [Js], [Qh] (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks, MP1 checks, CO bets, SB folds, BB calls, UTG folds, Hero calls, MP1 folds.

Turn: (4.50 BB) [3c] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, CO bets, BB calls, Hero raises, CO calls, BB calls.

River: (10.50 BB) [2h] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, BB folds.

Final Pot: 12.50 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 6s 3s (three of a kind, threes).
CO has 5d Qd (two pair, queens and threes).
Outcome: Hero wins 12.50 BB.

I probably could have bet out this flop with my pair and backdoor draw. Either way, from the turn and on I played it fine.

Ultimate Bet 0.01/0.02 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [8h], [2d]. Hero posts a blind of $0.01. MP3 posts a blind of $0.01.
UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, 1 fold, MP3 (poster) checks, CO calls, Button calls, Hero (poster) checks, BB raises, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Button calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (18 SB) [Jd], [2c], [9s] (9 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP3 folds, CO calls, Button calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (11.50 BB) [Ad] (5 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, UTG+1 calls, CO folds, Button folds, Hero calls.

River: (14.50 BB) [2h] (3 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+1 folds.

Final Pot: 16.50 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 8h 2d (three of a kind, twos).
BB has As Kd (two pair, aces and twos).
Outcome: Hero wins 16.50 BB.

With 13:1 odds on the turn, I had the odds to continue with my 5-outter. And I hit! I should have check-raised the river here... ah well.

At these ridiculous tables I was nearly break-even by limping 60% more hands than usual but sticking to my post-flop play.

Ah, I found the challenge. I will not take him up on it for a few reasons:

a) He advocates playing every hand REGARDLESS of PF action.
b) I probably will lose my entire stack at the table and then have to pay him off even more. At .01/.02 and .02/.05 this isn't an issue. At 1/2 it is an issue for me on my bankroll.

vp$ip 43.7
pfr 31.2

I probably will accept his challege shortly. (TW, I fart in your general direction)
I do not think, therefore I am not.
