I know that a lot of time and effort go into maintaining this site.
I am a member of a motorcycle forum. At that site we have what we call site supports. Using paypal (neteller) a donation is made to the site moderator to help keep the site running. In return a little icon is placed next to your name when you post. "Site supporter 2005".
If you are interested in something like this I can PM you the site so you can check out the icon they use and get an idea of how they do the sign up.
