Quick update

I played 405 hands today and won $841.80 making the total stake profit $1450.55

I got sucked out as a 10-1 fav for a $500 pot at FTP, but still had a short, but nicely profitable session. The players there suck. At least they have the last 2 nights.

Total win rate at 5/10 is now 7.7 BB / 100 hands. Im a happy camper :D

Ice,

did you set your goal at 10bb/100 or 10PTBB/100.

Just curious...nice to hear you are doing well.

Alex,

I am pretty sure that Ice set the goal at 10bb/100 which would be 5PTBB/100.

Yeah, 10PTBBs is impossible at these stakes. Theres no played with any significant number of hands winning at that rate that I know of.

My original goal was 7BBs. That was an educated guess based on several factors including a good friend of mines win rate, looking at his database and seeing other players win rates, and my small amount of play at that level.

After playing for 3 weeks now, Ive increased my goal to 10BBs and Im very confident I can hit that rate longterm. I would be well over it right now if it wasnt for that monster hand I got outdrawn on. One huge hand can have a big effect even after alot of hands.

For some reason, there were no 5/10 tables available at Prima today. I played at FTP and Party this morning, and this evening I started to play at Party, but Im exhuausted so I only played a few hands.

I played a total of only 192 hands today, but still managed a $1177.25 profit.

My $5/$10 win rate is now 9.4 BB/ 100 hands.

The total stake profit is $2627.80, so each share has a $131.39 profit.

I was going to play at FTP tonight, but as I was on the waiting list I won about $350 at Party after 25 hands and decided to call it a night. My son just started 1st grade and I have to get up at 7am every morning to take him to school, so the late night playing is going to have to be curtailed a bit. Im beat.

I did get to watch Phil Ivey playing heads up and then 3 handed 50/100 NL. I watched for about 15 min and saw him win $16K. Yikes!

Playing Ivey heads up just cant possibly be +EV, although the chunk of his winnings came on an all in in one hand. He had a gutshot and a flush draw (and 2 overcards). The other guy had a flopped str8 but Ivey hit the flush.

I hit a little bump in the road this morning. I had REALLY bad cards and missed everything when I played. I did make a couple good plays which kept me from getting masacred. I played about 450 hands and lost $460.90

Heres one hand......

I open raise on the button to $40 with AJ. BB calls.
Pot is $85. Flop 732. He checks and I bet $75. He calls.
Pot is $235. Turn is another 7..Check / check
Pot still $235. River is a Q. He bets $65...I raise to $225 and he folds.

Same villian here

1 limper, then I limp on the button with 44. Villain raises to $45. Limper calls and I call
Pot is $140. Flop Q73. Villain checks, limper checks, I bet $100 and take it down.

This is why you need to make continuation bets. If he bets his AK or TT or whatever he has, I fold.

Paul Wolfe was at my table for 89 hands at FTP. I dont know who the hell he is and Im not impressed with his play. Ive heard hes a good tourney player. Maybe he is, but his cash games skills for the capped buy in online games is poor.

He raised about 15% of his hands. I never got into a hand with him but wanted to. I called a couple of his raises with pairs but missed and folded.

Heres one of his hands

He open raises to $35, cutoff, button and BB call.
Pot is $145. Flop comes [5c][2c][8h]. BB checks, Wolfe bets $145. He always best pot if he hits something. Cutoff min raises to $290 and only has another$100 left. BB pushes to total of $360. Wolfe calls and cutoff calls.

Pot is $1225. Turn is [2s]. Wolfe puts cutoff all in for $100.

Wolfe has A8....Cutoff has QQ...BB has [Ac][4c]

A8? And he took that much heat? Bad bad bad. QQ won it.

I played a short session this evening and won back most of what I lost this morning.

Total for the day....610 hands....-$74

I got no cards tonight, but made several successful bluffs to stay afloat.
I played another pro at FTP. Another one Ive never heard of. Suhleafs tells me hes made a WSOP final table. David Grey is his name. Just like Wolfe, he raises too much and thinks he can push us amatuers around.

I played one hand against him. He open raised to $35, which he had done several time already. I reraised to $110 in the BB with AT. He called. Damn!

Pot $225. Flop [2c][4c][4d]. I bet $150 and he calls. Damn!
Pot $525. Turn [Qc]. He has $700 left and I cover him. I push with no club. He folds. Whoever said I was weak tight hasnt seen the new and improved icey play

I made several other bluffs and got away with all of them.

Total $5/$10 win rate is now 7.9 BB / 100 hands

Win rates of my opponents ranked by most hands played against

4.02
-0.80
10.5
30.7
27.0
-27.0
-23.4
0.50
-19.2
12.5

Pretty wide range here

David Grey seems to be a decent tourney player and made the WSOP final table in 2003 but he was the first out, knocked out by moneymaker i think. Not sure how good he is but he seems like a real nice and funny guy. It seems to be a trend running with the pros that they raise too much and try to push people around.

Alot of the pros play low stakes like $100NL just for publicity for the site. Ive played a couple of them down there and it was pretty obvious that they were just screwing around, but I really think they are trying to won at $5/$10NL. I know Wolfe is becasue Ive watched him before and he does win alot.

Those stats are for all hands since I started the $5/$10 database. The guys at the top of the list have 2000 hands or so. The guy with 30.7BBs, did stack me with KKK vs JJJ. Hes a good player but has had an abnornmally large amount of big hands hes won. I asked him the other day if he ever gets outdrawn because Ive yet to see it happen.

The guy who came in 14th in the WSOP is still at -23.4 BBs

Theres are "true win rates" not PTBBs.
