Pot Limit Tourney - Advice Needed!

Postby chuckd » Wed Aug 24, 2005 9:46 am

Hi,

I've been playing online for a couple of years now, solely No Limit, and I am a winning player all be it at low stakes. Tonight I am going to my first B&M game, a Pot Limit Tournament. I expect between 30 and 50 entries and its not that high a buy in so the other entries will probably range from a few steady players to many novices. The structure I am told is re-buy for first 90 minutes then freeze out.

I just wondered if anyone on here has any advice for me. My plan is to re-buy as soon as I can to effectively double my stack and then play maybe a little looser than normal during re-buy, followed by tightening up a bit after. Is that an effective strategy? Also I am a bit concerend as I have only ever played pot limit once online, should I be making any main changes to my No Limit game because of this format? I dont really intend to do much bluffing as its pointless at the standard I will be up against but if anyone has some suggestions that may help please fire away.

Thanks,
Chuck.
