Complaint about Gaming Club

Postby k3nt » Tue Aug 30, 2005 11:30 pm

So finally Gaming Club is doing a reload bonus. Deposit $100, get $50 in bonus dollars that clears after you have played 350 raked hands. A raked hand is defined as a hand that is raked at least 25c. So far so good. All the Prima sites do things roughly the same way with their bonuses: it takes 7 raked hands to clear every $1 in bonuses.

But all the other Prima sites have upgraded their software so that they display the number of raked hands you have played on the main page. Prima has not done this.

Moreover, Gaming Club's software is TERRIBLE at keeping track of this. I played for about 2.5 hours tonight, and every time I went to the "raked hands" thingy at Gaming Club, it said I had the same number of raked hands played that I had had when I started the night. It never updated, not once.

All of the other Prima sites' raked hands grabber actually updates in real time. That's a very important thing. It's important information so you can know how fast you're clearing the bonus. It provides a nice kick in the pants to help you stay at the tables longer and actually clear the bonus. And it makes you feel confident that their computers actually KNOW how many raked hands you have played. If they're not keeping track, why should I believe I'm going to get the bonus at all?

So I'm pretty disappointed in Gaming Club right now. I prefer all of the other Prima sites (maybe excepting CrazyPoker, who did that craptacular business of announcing a bonus then retracting it).

I suppose it helps GC against all the no fun penny pinching bonus whores. I assume it updates each day and not in real time?

If PT can now autoimport the HH there then you can just keep count in your games tab as to the number of hands that have been raked.

Hi Kent,

Sorry to hear of your disappointment with the raked hand counter. We are happy to tell you that we have upgraded as well and we now display the counter as the other rooms do (the block on the top right section of the lobby).

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
GCP

No problem Kent, thanks for posting your views :)

There are a few others that do so (not sure about BTP directly tho), but we like to make a particular point of being available to forum members. It adds to the service we provide, and players seem to enjoy the fact that we can interact and engage in meaningful discussion with poker players directly.

Kind Regards,

Hey GC, your new software patch introduced two new bugs. I'm sure you've heard about them already but I'll post anyway.

#1: when you type in the amount of your bet and then hit return, the amount you typed in doesn't show up on the button to press. For instance, if you're playing 25c/50c NL and you want to bet the flop which has been checked to you, the button originally says "Bet 50c". If I type in "2" and hit enter, that used to make the button change to say "Bet $2.00". But the button still says "Bet 50c". When you click it, it does bet $2.00, but it's unnerving not to know for sure how much you bet, in case you mis-typed.

#2: when you click a pre-action button, you can't unclick it. So if I'm on the button with [Js][Ts] I might check the box that says "Call 50c" right away. But then ig it folds around to me and I want to change my call to a raise to try to steal the blinds -- I can't uncheck the box! Yuck.

Thanks Kent. A couple of others mentioned this as well and we've notified the developers at Prima of the bug.
