My casino.... Now has NL

Postby stealthtt385 » Thu Sep 01, 2005 9:56 pm

The casino that I used to go play at, when I only played limit, has just started 1/2 NL and 2/5 NL. I only play NL now and I would like to know what kinds of hands to play. I am guessing that low pockets are mucked in EP and you can play way more hands in LP in unraised pots. I used to go to the casino all the time to play limit then I discovered online poker.

How much different is the play? If I hit a set will I stack a person more often than not? My casino is a little over an hour away. Is it worth the trip to spend a couple hours there? More likely five to ten hours.

I would love to hear from the casino experts.

Stealth, well say good bye to your friends and family for a while =). I have found that live play is much worse than online, people make bigger mistakes out of boredom and ingnorance. That said who knows really every poker room is different, maybe it will be a rock fest. Though every casino I have played in that had newly opened a NL game has been crazy.

As for what hands to play, i try not to sit down with any set plan when I play. I adjust to the table, if the game is deep stacked and you can call a raise to try to bust someone by all means limp with all pp in any postions. I will limp preflop with almost any PP. Especially in wild games, I am usually willing to call any reasonable raise because you usualy stack someone when you hit.

Play it by ear and if you have any specific hands or staratgy questions post them here or in the NL section.
