Decent session. Made a living off big pairs because nothing else was hitting. Only got sucked out once but it was a bad one.

Gotta love that. He knew he didn't have the best hand by the way he wouldn't bet. But he sure had no problem calling off his stack.

BTW, if you're going to post a lot of hand histories I suggest using Bisonbisons hand converter. http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisoncon ... verter.cgi

To make the converter work correctly you have to delete the word "texas" out of the text of "PL Texas Hold'em." Sorry if you allready know this, but it makes it a lot easier to read. For example....

stealthtt385 I know about the converter (and even wrote one myself). Occasionally I am just too lazy to use it ;). Thanks for the info though.

Short session, just played for a bit as a break from HW. Tables were a little tight and I didn't get many big hands. I did finish clearing the pary bonus, while not being good for breaking even playing HE, it is good for the overall BR.

The only big hand that I played was with AA and like NLHE I think that AA hates me ;)

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed)

OK session overall. I caught some good money cards and made a bunch of good calls, laydowns. Would have been a much better session if not for this hand.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (9 handed)

Hero ($52.15)
UTG ($13.90)
UTG+1 ($18.35)
MP1 ($11.90)
MP2 ($15.55)
MP3 ($9.20)
CO ($24.40)
Button ($36.87)
SB ($11.96)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [8d], [8c]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.25, 4 folds, Button calls $0.25, SB (poster) completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($1) [8s], [Qd], [4d] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.95, UTG+1 folds, Button calls $0.95, SB folds.

Turn: ($2.90) [3s] (2 players)
Hero bets $2.8, Button calls $2.80.

River: ($8.50) [Qs] (2 players)
Hero bets $5, Button raises to $10, Hero raises to $25, Button calls $15.

Final Pot: $58.50

Results in white below:
Hero has 8d 8c (full house, eights full of queens).
Button has Qh 4c (full house, queens full of fours).
Outcome: Button wins $58.50.

Opponent wasn't a very good player so I am not sure there was anything that I could have done about this.

One major realization that I came to while playing is that I really need to re-think the way that I play AK. I need to attempt to keep the pot small esp on the flop that way I don't have to call off my entire stack on the turn / river. I am going to have to think about this more.

Bad session. Did get very many cards and didn't play very well.

Slow played AA against a manic and allowed a 3rd player to get odds to bust me, which he did. After that played like I was trying to catch up which caused me to overplay some hands.

I also think that NL is going to be more profitable for me then PL. In PL I am having trouble making money off big pairs which I didn't have trouble with in NL. I am going to try and play more NL and less PL from now on.

Great session. Didn't get many hands to play but when I did I made some cards. Also made some good laydowns, calls.

I think that I will make my goal if I can play every day like today.

I am sitting on my lappy in a computer lab not wanting to do any work so I though I would write up a "first week summary".

I have decided to divide up my analysis into 4 categories of hands.
- Big Pairs
- Small Pairs
- Big non pairs (AK, AQ, KQ, ...)
- Other (Axs, SC, ...)

Big Pairs
----------
At the 25 tables playing big pairs seems very easy. Push a good amount pre-flop, hope to get 1 caller. Push any flop then make a decision for you stack depending on the board and your opponent. I think that I have been doing this fairly well. I have been stacked a couple of times with big pairs but I don't think that I played those hands horribly and they have been making me the majority of my money.

Small Pairs
------------
I think that I have been too eager to call pf raises with SPs. I have been violating the 10x rule just because I am really pushing to make money. I think that I have been making 2 mistakes there: calling the bets and overplaying to make money. The players at these tables are bad enough that I should just wait for my cards and out play them.

I haven't been flopping many sets or getting paid off when I do but I have a very small sample size so I expect that to pick up.

Big Non Pairs
----------------
Currently this category is the bane of my existence. I am never sure exactly what to do with these hands. I realize that I don't want to put my stack in the middle but I keep finding myself HU with a LAG with TP decent kicker not knowing what to do. I want to push the flop to figure out where I am at but that just builds the pot so that I have to call larger turn, river bets. However when I don't push the flop 4 people will see the turn and I don't feel like my hand can stand up to any pressure.

Overall I feel like I am playing these hands a little weak tight. I think that I have lots of room to improve here.

Other
-------
For some reason the party $25 games have been really tight (ave VP$IP in the low 30s) so I haven't been playing these hands very much. I realized that if I am having trouble playing AQ on a A94 flop I am not going to do much better playing A6s so I have been staying away from these hands for the most part. Maybe after the current bonuses periods are done at party the games will loosen up and I can start limping in LP more with these hands.

Overall
--------
Overall I am very happy with the way that I am playing. As much as I have been joking that NLHE hates me, when I started I really wasn't playing well enough to win. I think that most of the immaturity has been removed from my game and I am now good enough to consistently make money. If I can mantain the rate that I playing / winning at, which seems reasonable, I will end up ahead of schedule. However I haven't had any major setbacks yet, so we will see what happens the first day that I lose 3 buy in's.

Goals For Next Week
-------------------------
- Relax and let the game come to me. Don't push to catch up.
- Concentrate on how I am playing AK, AQ, ...

Weeeee rushing is fun. Sat down to play a quick session and the cards and fish just kept on comming. I stacked the same guy 2 times in 15 minutes.

The only hand that I am not so sure about is here:
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

UTG ($16.35)
UTG+1 ($20.40)
UTG+2 ($40.20)
MP1 ($28.10)
Hero ($31.60)
MP3 ($19.40)
CO ($23)
Button ($23.40)
SB ($43.41)
BB ($38.90)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Kc], [Ks]. UTG posts a blind of $0.25. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
UTG+1 calls $0.25, UTG+2 calls $0.25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, CO calls $2, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls $1.75, UTG+2 folds.

Flop: ($6.60) [6d], [Jc], [3h] (4 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $5, CO calls $5, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: ($16.60) [4c] (3 players)
Hero checks, CO calls $16 (All-In), Hero calls $16.

River: ($48.60) [3d] (3 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $48.60

My opponet was loose but not horrible. I really didn't want to call that turn but I was thinking that he has QQ, AJ, KJ, QJ enough that it is prob +EV. I was also thinking that a set would be more likely to slow play, this looked more like TPTK to me.

A this level that is an easy call. If he has a set so be it, enough players will pay you off with QQ, 1010, 99, AJ, KJ, QJ, to offset the times your opponant has a set.

Good to see you winning at NL again.
