Oh man did I play in a juicy home game tonight. It was $100 buy-in NL, with $1/1/2 blinds, and I ended up $484 after about 4 hours. There was one huge donator that I'd played with before, so I knew it was going to be good going in. He just absolutely hates to fold, doesn't bet aggressively, and has pretty much no regard for money. But he has a lot of fun.
A few key hands:
Hilarious hand early, where the flop is
[7c][8d], and EP bets $20, MP calls, Donator calls, LP goes all in for $91, all fold to Donator who agonizes for awhile and finally calls with
[6c]. The pusher has
[Jd], and a blank hits the turn and non-diamond 4 hits the river.
Later on I am the second biggest stack at $160, and am dealt
[4c] in UTG+1 (seven handed). I've been getting some flak for never playing, so I raise to $8 after UTG folds. Donator says "make it $10," which is eventually ruled as a call (and he does it again on the very next hand, lol). Any reraise or large raise always means a pocket pair of some sort for him. One more loose caller in the first small blind, and the other blinds fold.
Flop comes down
[Ts][7c]. SB1, who is getting short, bets out $10, I call, Donator makes it another $25. SB1 calls all in and I call.
Turn is the
. I check and the Donator bets out $15, which of course I call. (I'm fairly certain he doesn't have trips at this point).
River is the lovely
. I value bet $50 and the Donator calls. Probably should have bet more. He had kings, SB1 shows A7o.
Towards the end of the night I've built my stack up to around $270. I peek early in SB2 and see black aces. I'm starting to wonder how I'm going to get any value out of them, since I haven't had a playable hand in awhile, when the Donator says "hey, what the hell," and raises it up to $20. Sweet! He's got a pocket pair and will probably not let it go.
One person calls and I raise it up to $100. Donator says "hey, you know the money doesn't bother me," and calls. First caller folds.
The flop comes
[9d][5h]. Donator checks his cards, and clearly hasn't hit. He checks to me and I bet $100, which he calls.
Turn comes
, and I put in my last $70, which is called.
River is the
, but the Donator has black sixes, so no suckout thankfully.
All in all, a pretty nice night of poker. Haven't been playing much lately, as I'm getting my house ready for the market.
