His turn bet confused me so I thought he could have the straight but i have odds to fill. He then checks on the river. I have $17 left. What do you do?

Jeez, I wish you'd raise preflop a bit more.

Anyhow, flop obviously needs betting (sometimes I would be a bit slow with this hand as you'd love a lower flush draw or two pair/set to hit to pay you off, though I always seem to get raped by a straight when I do that lol...), and I like your turn play too, no reason to escalate the pot when either could have the straight and appearing weak is no bad thing as you might capture more bets on the river with your AAA and huge draws. River blanks off, they both check, I think you have to make a value bet here and consider folding to a raise. After you played the old "go-stop-go" it'll be hard for anyone to put you on top set, so sets and 2 pairs are certain to call a half pot bet or so. It's hard to see anyone (non-goonish) check-raising the river without a straight, so if that happens, I'd probably fold, barring a good read on the raiser as a moron LAG.

no, i don't raise at all preflop practically. I think if I am gonna raise, i need to raise with a wide variety of hands as to not make what i have completely obvious. Since i'm still working on that, as i'm working on my postflop play which I think is much better than in the past.
