Hollywood Poker...

I signed an account up there... I've never actually played there, but they have some RIDICULOUS bonus... Like 1000% up to $10000... And it has a year to clear...

Anyone played there before...? Are there any games...? I know that all of their software is online (ie... no program on your computer...)...

Just looking at their website it says they have 8000 players online at the moment, so I'm assuming it's part of a network of sites, same as doyles room maybe?

The bonus is 500% up to $1000. That means if you deposit $200 you can clear a bonus of $1000 max. Of course you'd have to be extremely lucky to get that far with $200. Playing $2/4 Limit it would take you about an hour or so to accumulate about 50 points. Every 750 points gets you $50 into your account. Put the numbers together and you'll see how hard it is to clear that bonus on $200. You'd have to play way over your head. I ended up putting in $450 and averaging about 1.5 to 2 hours of 2/4 per day for 2 months I cleared $350 or 7 bonuses and I still think I was playing too high for my bankroll.

Thats even slower than UB?? or maybe the same since UB made it harder to earn points. Is it even possible to clear a $10,000 bonus at this speed?

I got lured into this so I tried it out last night. According to BW the hand requirement is pretty steep at 13x, but I didn't really mind that. What I do mind is that the hands take a long time to go around. Even with multitabling, the slowness factor will significantly extend the overall time needed to unlock the entire $10K. So after playing for a few hours, I got out and withdrew my $1K.

I didn't stay long enough to make an accurate measurement (I was also multitabling Bodog at the same time) but I think HW runs at about 20-25 per hour per table. Whatever it is, it felt like it was crawling compared to Bodog.

I've bonus-chased at PokerRoom a few times, about to wrap one up there now. It's a chore. I really don't like playing there, but I'll play anywhere once in awhile for a decent bonus. Usually, though, I can't wait to get done and get the hell out. Sounds to me like I'd be committed to Hollywood for months for this bonus. No, thanks.
