Bonus Error at Party?

Postby pnutbutr » Mon Sep 26, 2005 6:12 pm

I did the IGMPAY bonus on party and no bonus was credited to my account so I contacted Party's support. They almost immediately credited my account with the bonus and I thought I was good. An hour later I went to check my account and the bonus was credited twice. Not only that, but the first $100 had the status "Bonus Given". I'm currently working off the 500 hands for the other bonus, but I was wondering if anyone had any clue what might happen if I make a withdrawal after its done.

Not sure, but I have a weird vision of a carrot, 2 sticks of butter, and a man-eating raccoon in your future...

But that's because those things are always on your mind, no?

You may as well try cashing it out once you've cleared the bonus. If they do realise their mistake, they're dripping in so much cash they well just ignore it and say nothing about it. If you can get it out of the site you're golden.

Call me crazy, but I look at situations like these a bit differently.

I'd alert Party to their mistake, and if they still didn't bother to correct it after some reasonable time, well then I'd feel good about taking my "free" bonus.

Why alert them and risk losing "free" money? Well, I guess it's because I think its the right thing to do. I'd raise holy hell if they took money from me so to be fair I should be giving back what's not mine.

Also, I find that these kinds of things behave in some cosmic/karmic way and usually come back to haunt me. I want to be neutral in the universe lest the poker gods repay me in an evil way. I also feel good about myself when I act in a way that I feel is right.

I'm not saying its wrong to take the money, I just don't feel its right.

Man I feel like a dad here. Yuck!

Trodgers,

BINGO!!!!
You hit the nail on the head!!!!!
You're batting a thousand!!!!!
And any other corny cliches that mean the same thing. Aint a dang thing wrong with sounding like a dad on something like this. In fact if it weren't for dads (and moms too) instilling stuff like this into their kids' head througout childhood the world would be an even shittier place than it has become.
Anyone see the movie "Cinderella man"? The dad makes the kid take the salami back to the butcher shop where he shoplifted it. Even though it probably could have fed the family for almost a week. It was the right thing to do and he was teaching his kid not to be a thief. No matter the cost.

Agreed. And esp agree on the kosmic/karma thing. This game is hard enough without invoking the poker gods' wrath. You go on a 30 buy in losing streak and wonder what's going on? It just ain't worth it.

I'm not kidding. I've seen too much bad luck in my life. Preach on, TRex.

They already told me via email there was an error. With this cryptic message:

Tom, the 'IGMPAY' bonus was issued twice due to a system error and since it is a one time bonus, one "IGMPAY" bonus was elapsed by the system.

It was like the second email that they sent after my inquiry about the missing bonus in the first place. I figured they'd take it back shortly after, but that was like 5 days ago now. Maybe they'll see what's going on if i make a withdrawal, which I plan to do soon (I'm not taking all of my money out).

I have no idea what to do from here.
