I would have happily 3-bet or capped that flop. The raiser is coming from your right, so check-raising the turn is missing out on a lot of value. If you're going to smooth call the flop raise, you should at least donk the turn. If the raiser were UTG or at least close to your left, then the check-raise makes more sense. Here... you hit quads AND you face the field with 3-bets? What are you doing?

Nice hand, nonetheless.

UTG said he had QQ--but I think he was afraid of the K on the flop. I don't think he would've come along even if I would've flat called the turn. I don't think he wanted to call 2 cold, let alone 3. I don't think I could've milked any more out of that if I tried--It just sucked that CO and the Button were short stacked ($43 and $63 respectively). The guy who hit the flush, I could've probably taken him for his house if Stars would've let him bet it. He INSTACALLED the turn 3-bet--like I said, I'd have taken him for whatever he had.

Nice way to wrap up a session, no?

He could also have QQ, AA, or AKs here. Take people's money while you still can! They're far more likely to call raises on the flop than on the turn. If he caps the flop, then I'd worry about him having KK, but still lead the turn anyways even without another 8. He could be overplaying TPTK for all we know. It's incredibly rare to lose set over set, so I generally don't slow down unless I have plenty of good evidence I'm behind here.

Never overestimate your opponents. No one with TPTK or AA are going anywhere with you donking the turn. They probably will raise you. And if they have a flush draw, they're not giving up on the turn. Plus, the board pairing up might scare CO from betting out, which would be awful for you.

I think you're being too results-oriented with the "he would have folded anyway" part. For all we know, he could have had a different hand (like AA) and stuck around. And UTG+2 wasn't going to call 3-bets cold without a reallly strong draw.

You still made a ton of money from the hand, but I think it could have been played better.
