Tonight was one of those nights. I'll just chalk it up as a learning experience. Meaning, I still need to learn not to chase draws that I have very little chance of hitting, especially if everyone is capping the betting each round..

If you can put up with Pacific and the crappy software (which I and VERY few others happily do), there is no reason for your VIP to be so high, especially since you are so new to the game. It doesn't really matter if it is LIMIT or NL, work on getting that number down to 15 ish, and learn the game---your variance will be less, and it will pay dividends in the future...

Party Beginner Assault - Day 1

Tonight began the 45-day assault on the Party Beginner tables, with good results. After waiting for a good 15-20 minutes for a seat at one of the $.15/$.30 tables, I finally sat down. The play didn't seem all that much different than the $.05/$.10 tables I had been playing on, other than the pots being bigger.

I got some good cards tonight, and most of them actually held up. Things like getting K3o in the BB and getting another K3 on the flop for two pairs, or a couple of rivered straight suck-outs in my favor. All told, I finished the night up $8.06. My goal with this assault is to build a big enough bankroll to move up to the next level - $.25/$.50, for which I'll need $250 to make a nice cushion. UB messed up on my cashout - they sent it to Firepay instead of Neteller, even though I could have sworn I told them to use Neteller - so I don't have my full starting BR at Party just yet. When I get that straightened out, I'll have $110 with another $35 in pending bonuses.
