This happened last night:

I am in MP with TT. OTG limps, I call, C/O, button, and BB call.

The flop comes T 5 2 rainbow.

BB and OTG check. I bet out and everyone folded.

Is this wrong? I know ther was no flush draw and an no OESD (perhaps a belly buster if someone had AXs. My thinking was with that many opponents, I would get a caller or 2, maybe even be check raised?

Is this a situation where I should check and wait to bet on 4th??
or was I correct and just unlucky no one called??

I only check here if its a super tight or super aggressive table. Otherwise fire away.

Raise pre-flop and you have to bet that flop. No way around it.

Sounds crazy, but with the 25 anyone with an A3 or A4 could catch a straight and since it was unraised, BB could have anything that gives him a straight next card. Whenever there is a straight or flush possible on the next cards you have to bet your set.

what you did before this hand dictates a lot of what you can get away with during this hand.

if you make lots of continuation bets and/or position stabs at orphan pots when you whiff, then you are much more likely to get called here. if you only bet when you have a good hand, no one is going to call.

to be honest, in SH, i have slowplayed this kind of hand before. while i don't think it is something you should do all of the time, i think it is something you should do a certain percentage of the time in order to disguise your play. ymmv.

also, as others have said, raise PF.
