Villian is pretty solid, especially for these tables. Solid enough that I wouldn't cold-call one of his raises with AQo.

BB checks, Hero checks, MP1 checks, Villian bets, BB calls, Hero calls, MP1 folds.

With 4 people in the pot, I didn't want to scare anybody out with a check-raise here, at least not until the bets get bigger.

Turn: (5.70 BB) (3 players)
BB bets, Hero calls, Villian calls.

Somebody else wants to lead out... Ok, fine.

River: (8.70 BB) (3 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, Villian 3-bets, BB calls, Hero calls.

Oops. Busted... The little voice inside my head told me he didn't have an AK, but the pot's big enough that I've got to make one last call...

I'm wondering now if he would have folded to a raise on the turn, since I had the opportunity to do so. What would you guys do here?

hhmmmm.... ok, slowplay on the flop is one way to do it. the slowplay on the turn, however, is suspect. i would want to make hands pay to draw to the flush or a boat. the pot is big enough that you're happy if you can take it down right then... plus you might get a lot of bets out of the other Q who you outkick.

as for the river, what can you do. can i assume that he had KK (or maybe KQ)?

I dunno, I think you played it fine. Making pay to the draw? Who's drawing here, I guess BB may be drawing but you don't want to push out villain if he's holding something like AK which will call down in this situation. I wouldn't be surprised if its still yours even on the river, some people really overvalue their AK and since there were no reraises he may think its still good.

Kuso has it nailed on this one. People wont put in bets when their draws dont hit on the river. They are more apt to call with marginal holdings on the turn to catch, then when the hand is over. I believe its important to get more money in on the turn, when they are less apt to fold. Although Id be less worried about being outdrawn, as opposed to missing bets when they will still call.

I'd have capped the river. There's only 4 hands that can beat you right? the BB doesn't have any of them or he would have capped the river and he's the only one that would have maybe had Q4 or Q5, so I'm only worrying about the villain having KK or KQ and hoping that it's AK or AA instead.

To answer your first question, no I doubt he would have folded to a raise on the turn.
